How to Import Certain Goods?
Hello, I was just wondering how I go about importing particular goods, if possible.

For example, in a mission one of my tasks is to build a jewelry factory and I need gold for that, however, my island has no gold to mine and I would need to import some. Help? Thanks.

Go to the jewelry factory and click allow imports.

Thanks much. I figured it was simple. Probably should have tried that.
In T5 you can just import pretty much anything directly regardless if you have a use for it or not.

You can go to your Alcamac and decided individually on what you want to import - Trade menu

How exactly import works?
In the docks there's no inventory, so i cant see the amount.

For example, if i have a gold mine and a jewelery - what whould happen if i enable import gold? Would gold be imported only if jewelery lacks it (happens sometimes)? Or would they impor gold, not depending on the amount if jewelery needs it or not?

only if you need it

Aha, thanks. So basically its better to have it enabled and just to keep an eye (in the early game, when necessary) on the imported amount at the Docks.

the docks will import based on the demands of the factories at the time the order is placed. that being said each dock can only import 500 units of any resource during a single shipment. using smugglers from one of these dlc packs can possibly augment and increase the max amount you can import, also the smugglers can get u goods that are currently embargoed as well.

Yeah, but i found them useless: 3 smugglers import kinda 15 iron or something like that. Probably embargo is the only reason to use them.

Yep, so if i have 1 golden mine and like 3 jeweleries, i'd need couple of docks as well.

Generally speaking, one dock can support one factory of each type; with three jewelry factories and one mine you would want two docks importing.

You can get three canneries per dock, but I would disable fish and pineapple imports due to low profitability, and stick with one per.

You could also have two furniture factories per dock, but those are the least profitable in the first place so I ignore them entirely.
