What the h*ll is the [ and ] key(s)?

Hey, I've tried to figure out what the game means with [ and ]. I've tried with 8 and 9, wich are the keys I use to write "[" and "]", if I press alt gr at the same time, wich I've also tried. I don't find anything about this in the (crappy) key bindings menu, so please, help me.

he has a QWERTZU keyboard I guess where [] are not buttons

depends on your keyboard layout yes, for me i need to switch to english everytime i need to use it [ ] but it works

That just seems great. So I have change language on my keyboard just to get the function to change decorations in Tropico 4? Is there no simple way to do it?

There really isn't a simple way to do it unfortunately. You can use an Autohotkey script to change the [ and ] hotkeys to something else. Check out:

That script changes the default hotkeys to something more useful, and with a little research it would be really easy to add more hotkeys to it.

Okay, thanks, but I think that it's pretty awful of Haemimont Games to chose some keys that not every keyboard has, and doesn't let you rebind them in-game. I hate when games doesn't let you change every single key in the game.
