Everyone, including tropicans, will prioritize establishments with the highest service quality available at the time, and that can vary wildly depending on the staff experience.
It is common to see a cabaret, for instance, be full of people for a full year then empty the next one followed by being full once again sometime after. Why does this happen? Because a worker with high job skill was either kicked out, retired, or left for a better job... in which turn she gets replaced by usually someone unskilled, lowering service quality a lot until they develop skill in that job and raise service quality back again over other entertainment establishments.
Casinos have pretty low inherent service quality regardless of worker experience so they tend to get ditched the moment you move away from pubs and restaurants. They are really not worth the investment.
This explains a great deal. Honestly I didn't know the simulation was that detailed. Very true to life, all considered. Thanks.
Still, you would think that casinos would be very popular tourist destinations. Even popular with the locals.
Any building that is in the entertainment tab can be visited by Tropicans.
Most attractions won't let Tropicans use them. There are a few exceptions, like the cocktail bar, and the ferris wheel.
Extremly popular are the Zoo, the Carbaret, Art Museum, the Restaurant, Cinema, Beach Resort, Cocktail Bar, Indigenous Village.
It seems that when ever you build a new entertainment building (besides the upper ones) they will be visted very well for the first year and abonded afterwards.
I dont think that this is a realistic simulation. If you want to go into a casino, you dont go into the zoo becuase it has higher entertaiment values...
If you set up your attractions to get more spring break tourists, having a Marina set to charter fishing makes heaps, And the Cosmic Pin set to all-you-can-drink. Also the cruise liner will make a huge amount of money.
An Aqua Park set to daycare will also make a fair amount of money, but will only let children in.
