[The Man with the Golden Gunk]

Tropico 4 has many random events. Some more useful than others. In this legit guide, I'll show you how you can exploit one to get lots of money, with little to no effort required!

Overview

One of the most useful random events is "Spare Change", which happens when you have high Middle East Relations. The Middle East was promising you their finest camel, but as she died tragically, they give you $30,000 as compensation. Apparently they found it whilst looking behind the sofa. This can be very useful when you are just starting, giving you money that you can use to increase your income (eg. Industry, Tourism, Mining) or spend it on things people need (eg. College, Churches, Healthcare). This more commonly happens when you have good relations with them.

All you need to do is:
1. Make a new island and a new character. Or just use your existing one.
2. Add traits that increase Middle East relations. Eg: Ugly (More effective when levelled up), Religious Zealot (Very Effective). You could also use a foriegn office.
3. Wait. This will happen quicker depending on which trait(s) you used. For me, this took three years (at Ugly level 3.)
4. SPEND YOUR MONEY! This only happens once in every save, so don't waste it!

It sounds like a lot of work and planning... I prefer maintaining good relationship with the USA and the USSR so that they give me money at the end of the year. If I already have a lot of money I order the construction of a few buidlings but put it on hold so that no builder work on them and they stay at 0% completion. Once the superpowers give me the money, I cancel the constructions and get 100% of the building's value back.
With good relationship with both superpowers you can get an extra 8k or 9k a year. It's less than the camel trick, but easier, more reliable, more regular and more often.
