Low Magic Age

Low Magic Age

A few questions about adventure mode?
first thing is what adventure mode should I pick and why are there 2 modes to pick from.
and second is there a way to turn off the starting quest? I am trying to play as solo character at the start but quest is acting like i lost party companions that don't exist.

Definitely play Adventure 2. Adventure 1 is the original map and is out dated.
As far as starting out as 1 player in Adventure 1, that's how it starts. You only need to fight 2 battles, maybe 3, then you get all your companions.
Play Adventure 1. 2 Is In Alpha and quite Unstable.

I've been playing tons of adventure 2 maps and haven't had any issues with it.

Same here, haven't had a single crash.
no issue whatever with adventure 2
Adventure 2 map is ugly, turn-based grid-like movement for some reason??, and is harder to see everything. One can only hope the dev at least goes back to the adv1 map style. The look and feel of adv2 is awful IMO,.

Not going to happen. The new map is procedurally-generated which is definitely an advantage over the old static map. What are having a hard time seeing? You know you can zoom in, right?

It is a little ugly, but honestly it plays better for the most part. In the first map it's pretty impossible to avoid running into monsters on the map and that can get tedious if you're just trying to run back to a town or something.

One big issue I've found with the adventure map 2 is that trade seems completely useless. In adventure 1 it's entirely reasonable to buy trade goods cheap in one town and sell them for a big profit at another town. In the adventure 2 maps I've played, there are barely any trade opportunities, it seems like most places produce the same stuff which drives down prices and leaves you with nothing else to trade. At least running a bunch of businesses is still profitable.
I've been playing around on adventure 2 and all I been doing is roaming around. Nothing to really do except fight and run tavern quests. I can do all that in adv1. I just started adv2 recently and still looking for the "adventure."
If one could dodge the monsters successfully on the map, one would rarely need weapons or armor.
The dev should realize, it's DnD, you're gonna run into monsters lol
I'd rather have my players run into monsters than make my game look like puke.

I mean there are plenty of dungeons you can run and still monsters on the map to fight. It's just easier to avoid it if you want to.

For some of us old school gamers gameplay > graphics 100% of the time. Graphics are just fine for me and having a new worlds everytime we play vs the same map is awesome.
I'm an old school gamer. An 80's child. Graphics are not everything no, but It's a bad idea to go from a nice map to an ugly one and call it better. My comment wasn't just about graphics man, the gameplay is boring, you just want to run tavern errands all day?
Trades suck and there's no NPC interaction.
The game goes from descent to crappy here.

The new adventure is brand new and barely done. Give it time.
all the dev is doing is needlessly adding dev time, the old map was fine. im having doubts this will ever be done, hes adding oddball OP Races a minority of people will actually play, instead of Classes, Prestige Classes, Fleshing out skills, he is at least fleshing out crafting and out buisnesses though.

So you would rather have a small static map over a newly procedurally-generated larger map every time you play? Just so you know, you are definitely in the minority with that opinion.
