Precreate full 6 character party or only one character and find the rest of the party?

hi, I am going to begin a new adventure. I do not know if I am supposed to precreate a full 6 character party to play all the adventure, or if I should create only one main character and then find the rest of the party during quests, like in Baldurs Gate or Pathfinder games where finding the party was part of the story.

You can start with, as little, as a 1 party group (risky, of course) & purchase more members in villages, towns, cities. I am referencing the Adventure mode 2; but I am sure that is the case per the original Adventure mode as well...it has just been a while for that one.

Usually better to create your own, but I could see it being a fun RP playthrough finding your companions as you go.
