https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Kukri
The Kurki is an Exotic weapon in the light blades class
Weapons are over-all classed into:
Simple > martial > exotic....
Exotic weapons are almost ALWAYS exclusive training "choices" (a feat), VERY FEW classes (aldori type fighters, etc) pay "alot" to have it as a "class feature"
basic terms "its a weapon NEEDING special training, for optimal use"
In detail:
In part, 3.5e SRD, Reproduced > fair use for education/debate:
Monk class features excerpt, weapons/armour
"[..]Class Features
All of the following are class features of the monk.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Monks are proficient with club, crossbow (light or heavy), dagger, handaxe, javelin, kama, nunchaku, quarterstaff, sai, shuriken, siangham, and sling.
Monks are not proficient with any armor or shields"
Clear from the RAW (rules as written) text, the answer to OP's question is "NO"
In my memory of DnD/PF from 1986, when I started, forward to today, the Kukri has always been exotic from when it was introduced
I am not a defacto source, I would seek out info in SRD (and any era games rule books your interested in) yourself
Yeah, my memory is crap. Think I was getting that and kama mixed up. /shrugs. Thanks though.
