Produkt Key from Steam doesn't work in Kalypso Game Start

So I wanted to play the game again and while installing it asked for an update. Went to the Kalypso game starter and there wanted to know the product key. I copied it from steam and after inserting it in the Kalypso game starter a message appears "Product key already in use". I can't play. Anyone with an idea what to do?

I wanted to play the game as well after many years and my product key is not valid. Tried to contact Kalypso (in german thank you) and there was no response. need to get old email account disloged from product key I believe.

Yet the equally daft Port Royale 3 and "Rise of Venice" runs fine as well. Same launcher but I suspect the updating of that bloody thing is the issue in P4.

On the other hand P2 and P3 (same game really) runs great in M$ win 7/10 with a few shortcut tweaks. Cheap too, for THE best trader evar made (200 page tip PDF formerly from the German Patrizier forums link available if requested).

Seems not. Port Royale 3 and Rise of Venice which use the same launcher update system do not have this issue.

Patrician IV 'steam edition' is unusable for many, Kalypso.

I just bought port royale 3 gold no problem, did not buy the package.
