Here's whats going on.

Hey there, you're probably interested in Dead Matter, so read this entire post and post in the replies if you have any questions, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

1. We have not abandoned the development of the game. I see this posted time and time again in here, like hell if we're going to stop working on this game for any circumstances outside of being flat-broke and brought to our knees.

2. If you're interested in anything related to the game right now, including access to nightly builds, you're just genuinely better off joining our Discord via discord.gg/deadmatter

3. If anyone feels that they've been wrongly banned from the Steam forums, really, any social media outside of Reddit, they can directly appeal to me at my personal work email address: [e-mail], I read all of my emails and reply accordingly.

4. We will indeed be releasing this month. I am not going to go further than that, if you want more information, it's out there and you can find it. My main priority as the lead developer returning to this project is the discord, branching further out from there. We're cutting it close, but we're going to get there.

Thank you for taking the time to update us, but not all of us are happy with using discord to be honest. I personally hate it as some of the groups / people are toxic and just being honest. I think a simple update here would be really good as I know many others are like me about discord. I hope you understand. Good luck over the comming week or so.

I am saddened when reading this, I've become pretty sharply aware of the toxicity in Discord and I'm doing what I can to address it.

I'm aware of our reputation, so I'll say it. Not interested in censoring people, some of the biggest critics we've dealt with have often lead to growth and innovation at the studio. I don't really want to stop that.

What an very irresponsible and half-ar*ed reply to the Steam community that has been asking for information for weeks if not MONTHS. On top of wanting everyone to use only Discord due to it being of a better convenience to ya'll, it just really sets the bar at a wrong place going forward (not to mention backward).

I understand the frustration, but we're currently limited on people that are available to get communication out to people and the best that I can do is direct people to communication channels that we are actively participating in.

This is the situation we find ourselves in and I don't aim to run things like this forever.

No, this is on me because I'm a dumbass that assumed most people were aware of the existence of our Discord server. I will be sure to make our forums and our Discord server more easily accessible to our fans in the future.

I think the next update needs to be good for this game to stand even a slight chance for success. So far the alpha builds are not good (to say it mildly).
Also the lack of direction, management and the overall sense of bankruptcy hasn't helped as well to settle everything. Delay's, almost no communication, or when there is. It is not good.
Missed deadlines that where do or die. See this July update.
As for 10 more days (my timezone) for august. I keep my hope in check if this update is any good. As many people here are doing the same. If they haven't given up on the game already.

We buy the game on steam, not discord. It would be wise to keep us updated on steam. Not everybody uses discord or social media.

Definitely going to buy this when it comes EA so I am going to be glade when it comes out this month. However I am sure alot of people will be skeptical, still I don't want to continue dragging on with DayZ when they only have a fork of the Enfusion Engine. Still waiting to see how the flow of game will end up and hopefully not be a KOS hellhole.
