Happiness is the house/heart icon in upper right. We on the same page there? If not this is the one I am referring to.
If you are early game, roughly 30ish rating per room is ok. Mid to late game, you are going to need those ratings to be minimum of 50 (as your workers get more exp/stars, they want better environment). Once I have most research done, my rooms will be at least 100. Your storage rooms also need to be 30 bare minimum, any long hallways? Add decor to it. Basically any room the worker can enter or walk through you need decor.
The reason my decor is so high is because once those workers start giving you thumbs up, thats ok, you want to see them giving you a double thumbs up and they will work a long time before a break. Decor is where its at.
Next would be how the blueprint is assigned billboards and numbers of stations. Those stations also need the zones to be big enough to store a couple orders worth of goods.
I did write a pretty detailed explanation of the game in the guides section. Have a look and see if anything can help you.
