Graphic Glitches
Hi
Love playing this game , however I'm having some fairly big problems with it. The game starts and runs fine, then after about 30-45 minutes I start getting flickering and 'artifacts ' on screen. This first happened I thought my GFX card was starting to go, but I have no problems in any other game(can play GTA v , Witcher, Deus ex.) and can play those for hours on end no problem.

I have tried limiting framerate to 30fps and 60fps, v-sync on/off all the same result.

pc spec is
Ryzen 5 3600x stock speed
16gb ram
RTX 2080 super
all drives are SSD

Anyone having similar issues and found a fix? or have any suggestions.

cheers

Other games do not matter much since the games you posted are mostly single player only and there are not allot of pathing calculations going on. Drawing pixels and actually doing pathing calcs are very different so your analogy is not quite the same thing. Its not apples to apples

EDIT - By single player I mean you only use one character and interact with NPCs which usually are static or have very small programmed routines.

If you can post some images of the problems you're experiencing then a person could say what it might be.

I'll try and get images next time i play. I play other similar games to this one (automachef, banished, prison architect sim city, Cities xl , several tycoon and tropica type games.) Like I said no other game causes the issue regardless of GPU or CPU load.

Alright, so your gfx driver is up to date. Has your brand had a recent update to it? If yes, roll back a version or 2 and see if artifacts/glitches clear up.

Is it screen tearing?

Some games you can make a very specific profile for in your graphics card control panel such as different power supply draws (current), FPS up or down, and other changes to enhance your game or clean it up.

So , the issue doesn't appear until the game has been running for a while (around 30/45 minutes.) It starts off as parts of the screen flickering black, like shards of glass, seems to be mostly around times the in game lighting changes ( odd times the grass flickers off then re renders.)

Once stsrted it steadily worsens until I get odd bits of the screen flickering what looks like 'snow' from an old tv set.

Shutting down the game , restarting the pc then resets the problem back to 0 and it starts again after running a while. I tried to grab screen shots but my hands arent quick enough to catch it as it flickers.

Looks like perhaps a memory leak somewhere?

Running the game now . and issues have started both graphics card and cpu are running in the mid 40's to low 50's temp wise . so not overheating issue.

the load on GFX is 32% CPU 16% and memory 28% so computer isnt really stressed out. Finding it very odd

I would say it could be a temperature issue if it's only happening after whatever amount of time. But then that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe try different drivers. Check your hardware to make sure they're fully seated into the motherboard. If this is the only game that is causing issues, then I'm not sure what else there is. It sounds like a hardware problem, but it's hard to say if nothing else is being affected.

i'll try drivers tommorow . Ive just played Automachef for the last couple of hours GFX and CPU ran up to full load and temps hit 70 for graphics and 65 for CPU , no problems at all ..so I dont think the hardware is faulty. I have reseated the GFX card and CPU and fan are secure. ram is locked in tight. The Power supply is more than powerful enough , its a Antec gold standard one.

Older Drivers didn't help. A Shame , looks like its uninstall and shelve the game.
Ran every stress test on my system overnight and nothing came up with errors or issues 100% loads on memory/GFX and CPU temps up to 72C( though mainly mid to high 60s) everything ran fine.

Started this game and had the same problems

Well I just tried this game out.
When I did my GPU (I have an RTX 2080Ti with up to date drivers and I9 9900K)
instantly went crazy and hit 99%. I kept downgrading and the lowest I
went was 720p with everything on low and it was still on 50%, I find this really insane. I can play games with raytracing an high specs without having my gpu work this hard haha.

@droei

Limit your frame rate to 60.

Already did that . and 30fps . doesn't stop the issue

Finally got a screeshot of it happening. this is after about 5 hours play. Temps are below 50 degrees. CPU and GFX usage is below 50%. Up until this point there was just the odd flicker

I can save and reboot the game(just the game , not the PC) and all will be fine until it happens again. Other games of any genre don't reproduce the issue and occt6, Kombustor and other stress test programs dont find errors.

That is a video driver issue. Try using your vid card control app to set the options such frame cap, AA, vsync.

If your monitor is 60 hz make sure the game is set to 60 and not 59 hz or visa versa.
