Gotta say I love the random events
They're fun, save your ass with the cash bonus, and alleviate the somewhat monotonous main mechanics.

BUT!

The gnome one sucks and I could do without it lol that one takes far too long and requires way more concentration for way longer than the others, the rat one is close but more fun since it requires a little skill.

Glad you like them and thanks for the feedback! :)
I would have guessed the rats were the most challenging one , so hearing about the gnomes is a bit surprising

I think the one with the Gnomes for me, are the most annoying mini game.

The spies are the worst for me. I always confuse the ones taking orders down for a spy and then they get all pissy.

Glad to see you active in the forums for 1!

For 2, yea the rats are a bit challenging but imo its a fun challenge, the gnomes are just tedious. I haven't had the issue with the spies like some other users are reporting

I haven't been bothered much by them, I personally just wait until see the camera flash unless I see them roam for a while without touching anything. Plus my workers take 47 breaks a day so if I see one not doing that I know its a spy lol

The way to spot spies is to set speed to normal then look at the speed they walk. Your employees brisk walk( provided they are on a job) whereas the spies always walk slowly.

Also, you wait until you need to kill 30 rats before you say these are fun. Rats are the absolute worst because it's the most time consuming. You are forced to do it at normal speed and the canon is really bad although, looking for brain slugs when you have several dozen employees can be just as bad. Events are a constant irritant to me. They really need to either give us the option to disable these ( as well as Nemesis's constant nagging) or, a easier to implement solution is to allow us to pay a fee to call in exterminator for a flat % of our money. Maybe 3-5%.

From most irritant to less aggravating:

1- Rats
2- Brain slug
3- Gnomes
4- Spies
5- Mold

We did give you guys that last friday though :) Look in the options menu, "Serious Business Mode".

As for the Nemesis, I will def. tone that down a bit. Watched a few streams during the weekend and he did call too often for my taste when you are ludicrous speeding in mid-late game scenarios.

Yea i've noticed some streamers not liking it as well, he does get a bit annoying when he bothers me about things i don't care about or can't afford to do. Such as calling about the size of my factory when I'm barely keeping afloat lol

Don't like the events, have never liked that crap since it was first conceived in the original SimCity. Just let me play the damned game.

PollyWahn says you can turn them off.
Treveri Oct 31, 2019 @ 7:34am
PollyWahn, how do you turn the events off??? Sorry, but they just aren't my gig. I find them annoying ... prolly cuz I'm a grumpy old man.

theres a checkbox when you start a factory called serious business mode or something like that, might be in the settings menu when youre on your current factory too but i'm not sure

Best is let us select which to turn off.
I dont my spy, no to the rest.

I second this! Could we be given a toggle for each one? I don't mind the spy one, or really the rats one either but the gnome one irks me a little.

Hee people,
Just want to leave my opinion.

Earyl game, these games are important income wise and no issue to complete at all.
However, Later on with 50+ workers and several plots unlocked the spies, rats and gnomes are getting very annoying and time consuming.

Thats why I love the option to disable them. (Serious business mode).

I love the game so far. Very satisfying to see the green bar of your contracts just booming to 100% :D

Keep up to good work!

A good balance could be to give us items in the mid-game to counter these? I thought the fly trap looking plants would of helped with rats but I didn't see it doing anything. Maybe make things like this?

The plants eat the rats and thus this event is lessened or eliminated.

Doorways that scan for brain slugs that we could put in at our break rooms. Or something like the coffee pot but it has the added benefit of removing slugs when used

Ultrasonic devices we could put in our factory that gnomes don't like and it auto stuns them.

Haven't come across spies but maybe a security guard or another door scanner we can put in to catch them when they enter?

I think the idea would be to allow us to have the events in the beginning when we need the cash but allow us to selectively "disable" them during mid to late game.

I do like the option but I also like the events the first few times they come up.
