I want to like this game
However, I think the a game is either broken or not for me.

My number one problem is speed. Instead of playing a few monement in time per turn it feels like to me each player play minutes of combat in a turn. Which places way to much advanatge to speed. Lore (and the low hit points) tells me as a sol player I am supose to have strong shields. But if I power them up, I am functionaly combat ineffective. On the other hand unpowered I am faster than the geniri who are suposed to be the speedsters. Most other games force you to end your turn if you fire. That would be a problem with ships having mutliple facing weapons. Maybe the solution is to force the player to pass after firing a weapon.

This speed means mutliple players in the same turn can occuppy the same position, attacking the same shield. In defence your choice is turn on auto fire and lose control of which ship your targeting or wait until multiple enemies have had there turn and hope to still be alive.

My second problem is officers. Officer substantial increase the fire power of a ship, Which leads to huge inbalance of firepower and iniative of ships of the same nominal tier. It is a winner take-all snowballing course. Not cool.

In a game players should feel they have the illusion of a chance. In this game players zoneing either ambush you because while fighting the AI they catch you in a disadvantage postion or flee becuase they can't risk there expensive ship. I do NOT want to play AMBUSH counter AMBUSH, I want a battle royale.

An All those that say learn to play the game , look at the beginning opening statement.

Gameplay feels just fine. Some ships needs to be balanced that is for sure. But i see nothing wrong with the turns / firing. Get use to the game and you will find it a lot more easy... Get initiative and you go before all... What i'll say is you need time to understand how the game works. Plus game is still in early access don't expect everything to be perfect. Many things are coming in future so just hold tight and wait.
