How to deal with Balzac-type Dungeon Master in the Magic Maze?
Seriously, beyond the "Darkness" Gold Golem he's the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ piece of ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheap ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tub of ♥♥♥♥ boss in the Magic Maze. Instant death AoE and near constant stunlock plus his COMPLETE INABILITY TO TAKE ANY MEANINGFUL DAMAGE OF ANY KIND! You can't use spells, he'll just clobber you while you're charging. The ONLY person that does any kind of damage is my Carver and he only does a couple hundred a hit even WITH criticals. And then he has that ice sphere AoE that kills you regardless of HP or magic resistance(it always either kills my characters in one hit or brings them to 1 HP and freezes them so it might as WELL be a one hit kill) and it lasts long enough that it covers half the arena and THEN the ice fields will explode as well and do the same amount of damage! WHO DESIGNED THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?!

What level are your characters and what characters do you hvae in your party? The only things I can tell you that might help is to upgrade your equipment, level up, and learn the move set. If you are having problems with attacks that charge too long, I would look into using a metorite bracer.
I personally love using a party made up of Bianca, Isla, Angelo, and Meena. The heals can come fast with Meena and the boost Angelo provides to attack and tension gain is very helpful. Isla is my main damage dealer while Bianca is my backup for when Isla runs out of mp.

I'm basically right before the end of the game(I think). MC is a Sage currently, Lv.37 while everyone else is over Lv.50 with the best weapons and orbs available(this is just before the "tower" fight basically.

Good work on getting everyone the best gear possible. Definitely something I have yet to do. I would just suggest leveling up then. I used to have trouble with Über Estark but once I leveled my party up by 10 levels or so, I no longer have problems. While I do not think you will need 10 levels to beat the balzack dungeon master, a few more would not hurt. I didn't do the magic maze til I had beaten the game so I really don't know what is a good level to be going up against him.
Also to deal with the ice ball that follows you have you tried just circling around the outside of the arena? Perhaps you have, but it is just merely a suggestion. Also if you can't help getting hit by it try to switch to a different character because the AI will block and I have noticed that they take less damage than you do.

The Magic Maze scales your opponents against your level, seems to cap at around 50 or so. You'll end up with either:

Darkness Shrouded Gold Golem ala Guardian of the Treasure
Hell Warrior and Uber Killing Machine Redux from DQH(with Hellcaster backups...a LOT of them)
Giant Stone Statue dude(with Wight King/Teeny Sanguini/Healslime backup)
Balzac(♥♥♥♥ him)

And that's all I can remember off-hand and it's not really a thing about not getting hit because his AoE ends up covering nearly the ENTIRE arena by the time it's done traveling(we're talking a damn near minute duration on it) along with it's Freezing on hit and either 1HKO or Down To 1 HP attributes, and then he SPAMS it.

Just checking, you do know that you can dodge roll through the damage frames to completely avoid every attack in the game right? The slow moving aoe waves are among the easiest skills in the game to roll through.

The AoE fields that the Ice Sphere creates slows you down and you CANNOT let the Ice Sphere touch you. Even with some +15~ improved dodge rolls it's a pain to try and get away from them. The bigger problem is they end up covering over half the arena, making it near impossible to get close enough to him to damage him with most characters and his defenses are so high that a Bow user would inflict next to nothing on him. Carver was only doing around 500 damage with critical hits(WITH +25% Critical Hit damage). His stupid high defense, stupid high attack and stupid wide range freezing/instant death AoE emitter make the fight way harder than it should be as his other attacks are fairly easy to deal with.

Club Overhead Swing
Club Side Swing
Club Side Swing Delayed Combo
Butt Slam Shockwave
Butt Slam
Frost Breath

The only one with no real tell is the Butt Slam Shockwave since you can't tell it's coming till he lands and even though the ice sphere has the same tell as the frost breath, it's way worse as the ice AoE's the sphere leaves behind will NOT go away for some time and by the time the sphere is done tracking you, there are 8-10 of them on the arena floor in whatever path it took to follow you(usually in a circle) while Balzac is STILL swinging at you the entire time and then by the time they fade HE DOES IT AGAIN.
