PS4 or PC..
So I played the Demo on my PS4, the game worked just fine.
I am a little worried about the PC port... But graphically (4k and higher settings) would be nice.
there is also though a promo to trade 2 games and get the PS4 version for free at EBgames...

So I am torn, what do you guys think?

I personally am getting the PC version. If you have decent PC, it will be a good version I think. If you need to get it free, go with the PS4 and trade in the 2 games.

Both are capped at 1080p@60... PS4 use slightly lower graphical settings, medium/high. For recommended spec desktop PC, it's all high settings and ability to enhance it even more via driver overrides and 3rd party post processing mods.

Well, if you have 2 disposable games to trade for it, go ahead with PS4 version. Take note, you'll need to sub to PSN for online multiplayer.

PC is a risk since it's a PS4 game ported over to PC and overpriced for being a digital only product. If you did not maintain your PC desktop well, you might face technical or even performance issue.

If you don't plan to get the PS4 version, I recommend a wait for sale approach unless it's a die hard fan driven need to own it on PC and wanting to play online since online PC population is greatest at release day ( Probably die off under a month or two, there might be regioning issue for online lobbies due to Steamworks P2P...)

PS4 (physical media) > PC (digital only) for now...

Yeah I think I'm going with the PC I have a high end PC and 4K Monitor so I think I'll choose that over the PS4 version.

Thanks for the responses 🙂

With the settings and resolutions they listed, baring any bad surprise, PC version seems like the way to go.

if you care a lot about multiplayer the console version will probably have an active playerbase for longer

With cartoony graphics like this, I really don't see why the resoluiton matters. I've been playing the PS4-version a couple of hours, and I think it looks fantastic and plays really well. I haven't had any slowdowns, some "loading screens" are non-existent (like entering and leaving buildings), and the frame rate stays consistent even when the screen is flooded with enemies, flashy moves and all that all at once. Get the PC-version if graphics is everything to you, but don't worry, the PS4-version is more than good enough for 99% of us.

These "cartoony" graphics are exactly why higher resolution matters. If you can't understand why it looks so much better the higher rez you go, stick to the ps4 =)

OP, you say you have a high end pc and 4k monitor etc...you know what version to get then. Why even bother asking?

High resolution matters when you want a lot of small, tiny details. It's the difference between staring at a blurry wall and a wall made out of actual bricks when looking at it up close. It doesn't matter when there are very few details like that. The cartoony graphics means large areas with little details, so 1080p is plenty.

It's not only about details, most buffers tend to scale with the resolution, so the higher the better it looks overall. And honestly, once you get used to 1440p/4k it's very hard to go back to 1080p. :P

No, it isn´t. I play in PC (1440p monitor), PS4 (1080p) and PS3 (Yakuza 5 720p). What´s important is if the game is fun.

I play at 4k and 1440p and all things being equal I'll always go with the higher reso option. I can still play at 1080p, but if I can, I avoid it it looks pretty rough. Game being fun is the difference between buying/playing it or not, resolution etc is more a platform choice.

You would think so, but for most people today, graphics are everything. Why else are Sony and MS pushing bigger and better consoles down our throat all the time? More powerful consoles means better graphics, better graphics means better sales. That gameplay died along the way is apparently irrelevant.

You have an incredibly reductive view. Those upgrades were made to address people jumping ship to PC and then to differentiate themselves from the competition. The games are the same, people with disposable income will always go where they play best. Here the only differentiation is GFX/resolution. Exclusives are on their way out when it's not first party, it's has become too expensive for platform holders. They prefer marketing deals and buying exclu on small games nowadays. So unless you offer something radically different from the competition, the arms race is the only way to remain relevant. That doesn't mean people don't care about gameplay though.
