General questions about the endgame

So I beated the game and there are a couple of questions that I have

1. Is there a best ending this game has? If so, what are the requirements to beat it? If not, then its a bummer because it ends on a upsetting note.

2. Is there no way to get back to the castle world once you beat the final boss? I missed some cassettes and I thought that I can get them all once I beat the game. If there is no way, would you mind doing a patch that lets you go back to the castle when you are done beating the game? Or at the very least, just warn the player in some form.

But I enjoyed the game as a whole. And I'm considering of doing a guide for this game when that chance comes.

There is only one ending of the game iirc. Also, is it really that upetting? I find it relatively positive, especially on the emotional and moral fronts, even when ignoring Cezera's note to you in the credits. Did you stay until the end of the credits and got to the final End screen?

Loading your profile after beating the final boss will keep the cassetes you get for completing the game - I mean, you'd not be able to listen to them otherwise. This will also let you explore the castle again, letting you find chests you missed in the last 'world.'

The game only has one ending, but if you don't kill any masked kids in chapter 5 you get a few extra boxes of dialogue.
