Final boss bugged out (making him nearly impossible)

The first time I fought the final boss, there was a nasty bug that caused the fight to be nearly impossible.

The first time the blocks you can stand on appeared, I only grabbed 3 to land a hit on him and didn't grab the fourth one... and after the first round of attacks, only one block appeared at a time for the rest of the fight! Even if he did the thing where he resets the position of all blocks you're not holding, it still only gave me one block.

Having only one block means it's impossible to hit him unless by miraculous luck you manage to stack two dice on top of each other, right before the vulnerable phase and right in front of him, and they don't clip through each other, and you successfully climb on top of them. Which I managed once, but I didn't land enough damage to finish him off and I couldn't do it a second time.

I spent a long time trying to win with just one block before I realized it was probably a bug, let him kill me, and discovered on my second try that he's *supposed* to always give you four blocks at a time.
