Water barrel Puzzle

I've been at that for an hour. Is it bugged or am I not seeing something. No matter what I do I can't get puzzle solved. There is 8 (gallons) of water big tank can hole the others are 5 and 3. The puzzle requires 4 to be in big tank but it can't be done. HELP PLEASE!

if you see that 5-3 and 3 has a difference of 1, you will begin to realize it.

Yeah Im stuck on this I realise the maths but just cant get it through, any pointers?

Do you have exactly 8 units of water in total? On very rare occasions we've seen a bug where this puzzle has too many units of water, making it unsolvable. If you don't have this issue, a hint would be to end up with 1 unit in the big tank, then you can guess the rest :)

no theres like 13, 3 in the bottom 5 in the middle and 5 in the top one. I have 3 empty "unlit" diamonds left only in the top barrell. So there is no where to empty anymore from the top barrell, looks like I have the bug so whats the fix?

Aah yeah. We are sorry for this :( Have you tried loading an earlier game? If that doesn't work the only thing to do is restart the level unfortunately. Open the invisible console by pressing 1/2 and type "map aporiaopenworld". However you don't need to complete it to proceed. If you want, we can also send you a save game on Monday without the issue

Thanks, but it seems I have the unsolvable 13 unit problem. 8 units would have made it a lot easier lol

Well, that's too far back to restart. Another option is to get it with another play through. Its a shame though as I was actually trying to get all the pieces [since its a short game] the first time around.

I'm only going to tell you what you have to have in the largest bowl, to make it work. I'm not going to tell you how to do it, other than it is about addition and subtraction, and only about how you controll the water with the levers.

You need to get only 4 lights lit up in the large bowl. That's a level of water that make only 4 lights come on.

yes but we cant do that because we have too many water units to start with for us it is impossible.

I want to open the window to get the forth tool which I assume will give the mask in the cathedral so I still need the stain glass shard this will presumably give up, only need 3 more.

Tried pressing the key to the left of the number one if that's what you meant? it does bring down like a console but does not allow any typing, please advise.

How do you solve this puzzle? I cannot get the big barrel to hold 4 units of water.
