(SPOILER) What with Shanaw
WTF happens to Shanaw??
Close to give a negative review cause of this cause it's exactly the same thing that stopped me from playing bermuda ...

So whats my issue here - basically she just gets murdered at some point with me having a feeling of not being able to do anything about it.... and that absolutely kills the experience for me. (About the same in bermuda when someone turned crazy without apparent reason, or at least reasons far from being slightly understandable)

So I get that it might have to do with the shadow lurking around the past days (at least thats my best guess)... but what the heck am I supposed to do to prevent that from happening??
With 3 characters it's just a random skill check (the RNG-problem of this game is already known) and then a decision in another night that doesn't explain how important it is to do the right thing ....
So ... now I would have to load a save from a previous day (not to mention I'm not entirely sure it's not already too much in the past) and then try what could be the right solution??

I get that the game shall emit a constant danger for the group BUT GIVE ME AT LEAST A CHANCE to do the right thing.... and to do the right thing by thinking about it and not luck....

I'ts just super disappointing ... clinging to live with ever character in the camp so far and then there's something seemingly random happening that INSTANTLY kills one of your guys.

So what's my question here: What do I have to do to prevent that from happening?
If you tell me I already need to pass the skill checks with the first random chars ... than I'm out of it for now and might start a new game when the "skipping seen dialog"-stuff is in...
If you tell me I just need to do the last decision right... well then I'll try to load the oldest save and hope it's not already to late.
If you tell me there is no way to prevent that... well then I'll stop playing because what tells me if not one of the other characters is next??

I mean apart from that I'm having an absolute blast with this game (of course if I wouldn't be deeply invested in the characters by now I wouldn't bother about something like this that much^^).

EDIT: Alright already vented off my frustration as I found this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/573120/discussions/0/3288067088095369592/ ... so it IS basically a scripted event that you can't do anything about??
Isn't that some kind of bad decision game wise - giving the player the feelings his actions mean nothing as randomly someone is just killed when THE WHOLE GAME is about preventing your characters from being killed?

Probably I'm just the wrong player type but as I said this stuff unfortunately kills the whole game for me =( (if there is really no solution to prevent this from happening)

So that you don't get frustrated by reloading over and over: you can avoid the murder,
but not by choosing a good answer choice. It's just that, as the family says when the assaults start to accumulate, if you don't trust a companion, you should kick him/her from the camp ;)
But you can also decide to live with it, and... you know what happens next.

Ah, and indeed the murdered is chosen randomly between the other secondary characters,
when the event triggers.

You can do something about it.

omg thanks for the answer - that's such a relief!
(Couldn't properly sleep half the night cause I didn't stop thinking that this has to be avoidable xD - my 2 recruited chars shanaw and the priest grew already very close to me)

Hmm alright gonna load previous saves and try choose a different answers in the last night-event (if it's not to much in the past) - if not I'll hope at last I can recruit someone else I don't care about yet until this event (and then hope the event picks him (if it's not exactly tied to shanaw as the other post suggest) ^^

If all that doesn't work I hope at least I can prevent this in another playthrough >-<

But still thanks a bunch for the answer despite my obvious frustation ^-^

ahh yeah that does indeed save me a lot of reloads ^^

so that means angelico is the murderer as also suggested in the other thread and since he is the only other recruited companion I had so far...
But he is such a nice, helpful and gentle guy =(

Thought actually a lot about why exactly this is happening (as I said bothered me a lot during my sleep^^)
(Like - is it probably shanaws husband who got to us, is it jealousy from angelico over kari ^^)

So my current theory is that he actually is cursed/haunted or a psychopath =( (but he's so nice^^)
I mean death seems to happen around him all the time as he already told us when asked where he comes from...

Well yeah I think I'll go with exiling him from the camp, even though I really like him and would've loved to have been able to care for all of them >.< (but if he's killing others I definitly need to protect them from him!)

So thanks again for your quick reply and for you advise on how to deal with the situation - indeed will save me a lot of nerves =)

(Can't w8 for my next spare time to continue, was so afraid this would stop me from playing as I really had a blast with this so far!)
