you dont HAVE to explore in endless mode, infact im not even sure if its the most effective apprach yet, in story mode its important to get more companions but in endless you dont need to expore to recruit.
as for the fresh tributes they likely need an upper limit for balance.
yet in saying that, you dont have to pass every tribute and can (assuming it works the same as story) pay extra in other tributes to reduce the animosity meter. proper planning here is important, sometimes its better to accept youll be paying less or nothing at all and put your focus elsewhere for the week than scramble around desperately trying to focus on a tribute you wont complete anyway.
So many times they want stuff from me I can't give them. High amounts of fresh fruits, meat, dried meat (when I didn't even build the drying rack in the early game) and - most annoying - things you get from sheeps. You said, I dont have to explore - but I have to explore to get sheeps and I'm not very lucky with them.
Most of the time I think "Ok, this tribute will fail anyway, but in the meanwhile heal your people and harvest other things". Seven days later... "Come on, are you serious?" Fresh fruits again, bones (the dog can search for them, but he never gets the required amount), milk, cheese, wool, cloth, bandages (not enough cloth for it)... Really? I don't know how to get most of these things so early in the game.
There are even tributes you can't complete, no matter what you do. For example, I got a tribute with 38.00 drinkable water required. A little bit unfair, isn't it? Such tributes should be patched out of the game, at least you should have a chance to complete a tribute.
And about the fights: I don't know how you managed to kill Njall. As I said, my damage against bosses is always 0-0. Ok, I don't use many skillpoints for combat, maybe this is the point?
as for the njall encounter it was tough but doable with kari blod and knut.
kari did one hit kill the 2nd lackey making it 3v1 and knut almost died he was very low but kari and blod could have finished njall easily
njall didnt have any negative to dmg recieved i recall it being negative to accuracy, so unless he had damage resistance or you had negative "wound" traits to lower your partys damage im unsure the reason you did 0 damage.
i want to say losing a fight shouldnt be too punishing (some injury and negative traits) on extreme this could be very punishing but thats what the extra recruitable characters are for im unsure how it all balances out but havnt seen it to be a problem personally (yet)
if a characters not looking too well dont be afraid to kick their butt and replace them.
the 38 water, if its non potable its do-able, if its potable water i think 38 is like 10 more than u can even get in which case...shame on you devs...shame...
My problem with injured characters is, I can't explore the map with them. I only explore the map when the chance for a fight is 15% or less (even then I'm running into more fights than I expected). When the exploring character is injured, the chance for a fight is very high, so if I would continue exploring, there are more fights and maybe higher injures.
It takes so long to heal a character, because I don't have as much cloth as I need. Repairing the "hospital", the herb station and the resting place, paying tributes (cloth, bandages) and making bandages for my characters - all that without sheeps? But to get those sheeps, I have to explore with non-injured characters, unless I want to run into many fights.
Even if I kick out the injured exploring character, the others don't have that high exploring and camouflage skills...

Both in the same run.
Thanks for the feedback. We will include a fix for this issue in the next patch :)
