That said, it IS quite annoying how much people's dislike for each other changes so willy-nilly and you have no control over it. Compared to a game like Fire Emblem where you 100% control who likes who, it's particularly irritating. But I'd expect to have at least SOME decision making.
All I ever agreed with Eustache was on him killing the man who stole her fruit, and the first cave scene, which struck me as a treasure opportunity. You two go in there, Bluud kills a bear, Eus says you're meant for more than the home life, that's it.
The next scene is BOOM, Bluud automatically meets him in a cave at night, gets her cheat on with the lier and thief, then she has an option to feel regreatful or not. Its pretty left field after having the opportunity to stop the Kari/ wild girl romance.
Also, next time before accusing someone of intentionally wanting something they clearly told you they didn't, why not ask them what they did? You didn't know how the affair steps were triggered, so you had zero basis to judge with. Intentional or not, your words made it sound personal, which is a silly thing over a video game.
I find it a bit silly you are so offended by text in a video game, but that's neither here nor there.
I thought that option was clearly flirting so I didn't take it. I was #teameirik the whole time myself.
By you didn't like the Kari/Shanaw romanace? Clearly a closeted male homosexual.
Basically it's a binary choice at one point, rather than a granular implementation of potential outcomes. Presumably because it's much easier to do it that way.
I don't like it either. Another case of it is Eirik/Parvaneh. Last time I had the useless mounth in my camp, you could blow her advances on Eirik every time, but if you picked the wrong LAST option suddenly you were the one and only true love. Blodeuwedd who?
That was really uncalled for.
I had the bad idea of recruiting the Persian girl (the merchant was awesome and his relationship with Moira was great). I hated her so much... but I liked her motivations and as a character she made sense. Seeing Eirik in shock was funny but again I always stopped him before doing anything. Once a figure in the darkness stabbed him: I believe it was her.
The scene that justifies it all: the black monk was caught stealing (putting people's survival at risk just so he can keep his lifestyle), the party decides he's getting expelled (and everyone knows he'll die outside on his own). Eustache protests and deeply upset yells to Blod "I'm only leaving if you say so. Say so!" Blod (tear running down her face): "you have to leave :'( ". And he violently leaves, never to return. AWESOME.
I liked the relationship with Shanaw but I was surprised in a bad way when I saw Angelico hitting on Kira after that.
As for getting upset about it, it makes sense IMO. We play this game and get invested in the characters, their fictional lives and we literally deal with their struggle to survive. Then when they do something that is out of our control, when it is suppose to be in our control, it doesn't make you feel good.
Its almost like Blod cheats on you, as the player, because she did something you may not have wanted her to do.
EDIT: Yea, its beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up or an oversight that Eirik cheating gives him a plethora of negative traits but Blod goes oh oops, and gets +20 relationship towards Eirik. Like wtf.
She's very much a daddy's daughter. To have "mom" cheat on somebody she idolizes with no consequence is definitely a major oversight.
EDIT: I think the devs have a collective cuck fetish. Its the only explanation IMO
Added a check so that Eustache and Blodeuwedd's romance won't go to the final level if the player rebuked Eustache at every occasion.
Just lol, the devs still want Blod to cheat. You must reject him at EVERY conversation.
"Tell me about your family..."
*10 days later*
"Even though I rebuked everytime, that story about your family means i'll have sex with you now in the cave."
I liked his loot bonus
I didn't like his high depression gains
I made him a great forester
I didn't like his raised attention to Blodeuwedd
He was gaining levels very slow
He stole stuff. I caught him and let him stay
He wanted to get Blodeuwedd, she refused
We lived through much together, but I could never trust him
Maybe I allowed him make too many gifts to Blodeuwedd, but one night he ripped her clothes off and she gave in
The next morning I banished him from the camp
He cried, gave 4 dried meat and begged to let him stay
Eirik was unrelenting. Eustache said he wanted Blodeuwedd to say it
She said he had to leave
He looked really sad, but said adieu
Soon he died in the forests
The hardest thing would be to eat that dried meat, sooner or later
...
Not sure why did I get so emotional, but his contradicting personality felt very real. A man of freedom, with no laws to abide to - he was sometimes disgusting, other times fiery and alive. I didn't want him to die - he was the first character I ever banished, and I didn't realize the consequences.
It is probably relatively fair for the devs to treat us this way. It leaves some scars, some experience. We can't control everything in life. If anything...
