Spoiler: got stapped. Lost game? How to prevent after reloading?

Ok, this is my second post in this forum. Frist time i was complelty outraged by the Tinder/fire problem..Lost my game because missclicking the fire.

After this very frustrating playthrough, i started another one, did everything fine, did not lost one tinder, paid close to every (only one missing) tribute.

On day 90. Erik got stabbed.With a dagger. Hes dead. I lost.
I dont knowwhat happened. I dont know how to prevent it.
The only clue I had was the Witch talking something about traitor and i took this Vision serious. What else could i have done? Looking back, i dont know what to do different.
Persien dude said something about he could kill somebody for a good book/read. Dont knowif this has anything to do with it.

After nearly 40 hours, I am close to give this game a negative review. On the one side, it is just my kind of game, i love these games, managing, a bit of story, nice art design. On theother hand, it often gives me the feeling of being completly helpless, strange RNG and loosing without knowing wtf just happened or what to do is (for me) just very bad game design.


I RARELY HAD SUCH A FRUSTRATING GAME EXPERIENCE.
But if i would not enjoy it in many parts, i would not write this post.

Back to the question. Thistime i can reload the game, No mor etrue viking in this random mess of chances.

What can i do to prevent the death? instead of just reloadingover and over again until Erik survives the attack,

(seriously devs, why do you add these instant looses into the game? Who things this is fun. )

I'll try to be the less spoilery possible...

There is a certain character inside your team that has a "grudge" against Eirik, for some reason, that you can uncover if you manage to avoid the murder.

You totally can avoid the murder beforehand, by choosing good answers to some choices with this particular character.

I don't know if I must spoil more ^^ Part of the fun is discovering this plot.

You can also avoid the murder if you kick him/her from camp.

Well, i can reload the game. It could be heartbroken persian girl. But the game did not show other messages (apart from the witch) showing any danger.

I actually want to know if you, as dev, want the player to loose and reload a lot to experience the story? Shgould this game be played like this ? Or should people start from the beginning. ) and a a lost game is a lost game.
Or what is the purpose of these luck based( mostly, yes if you know it beforehand, you can prevent it) instaloses.
Should not be rude in anyway, but i seriously start to look at this game, without actually know wtf is actually wants from me as a player.

Yes, if my boy gets stabbed and maybe got -50 health etc, and is useless for the next 6 turns, i want to find out what happened, want to continue to play. But why would i bother too much, if the game keeps on telling me, i have lost? not satisfying to keep on reloading. I mean, cmon, i havea 67% to kep playing or just to bloody loose,?? i would not call that hard, i just would call that unfair.

Does this story starts with cloaked figure observing sleeping Eric?

I ve got only 3 additional people:
- Brother Angelico
- Old African Storyteller
- Persian Dude

Persian girl got to 100 depression and suicided (I did nothing to prevent it cause I honestly hated her). Yahoub is in love in Moira and likes Eric very much so it would be strange for him to take revenge I guess, but it's the only reason that comes to my mind. Did you have the same situation? I'm super nice to all my people all the time.

I dont remember any evenent of an cloaked figure observing the sleeping erik. But playing for90 days, i might have forgotten it :)

Reloaded 6 times already, 6 times the same day, still dead, no clue: ahhah, what a joke . seriously. First game, where i have to keep reloading to know the story. If i would not reload and just accept , that i lost, like you normally do in other games, you dont lknow anything of the story at all:D

I only got the perisan dude and the girl : Girl is heartbroken after being refejected. Thats all i know. Persian dude is in love as well. So guess it isprobably the girl. Killing for being rejeted. dont know. There was no obvious other warning what to do in thisgame. Just keep on reloading. that seems to be the game lol

She actually said she wont say a word and the relationsship between them is 12plus.
