Vinland is the name the vikings gave to America, it's also my last name.

Yes they did, they settled a place called "Jellyfish Cove" "L'anse aux Meadows" or "Straumfjord" depending on who you ask what it's called. Though they didn't thrive there. They also settled in a few other places around the area such as mainland Greenland.
