How to use cheats? (Read more than the title before posting.)

I've been through the entire game once already. I would like to run through it again with the commentary. I've started to do so, but advancing extremely quickly through the levels has already caused Daniel's sanity to drop to the lowest level available. How do I activate the console? Is there some console command I could use to set the sanity to 50 or some other number and leave it there? I want to listen to the commentary, but I don't want to have to babysit Daniel's sanity or health on order to do so.

There are no cheats in Amnesia, it's meant to be immersed into, not won. But if you insist on cheating, you can add a ton of Laudanum, Sanity Potions and Oil at the very start with the level editor.

I've already immersed myself once already. If I want to immerse myself again I'll do so. It was a great story, by the way. My goal with cheating isn't to "win", it's to enjoy the developer commentary without having to slow down because the sanity meter is at "..." all the time because I'm progressing too quickly.


Alternatively, if you know where the developer commentary files are stored I'll just listen to them directly with a music player. I have a feeling that you didn't read the paragraph I wrote, otherwise you would have responded differently.

Just download the HPL tools, open rainyhall.map, go to entities/items, and add the things you need.

Great. Then, when I want to play a legit "immersive" game, I can just not pick up the "cheater stash" at the start. Thanks for your help.

Edit: While looking around for the right spot to put the editor files, I found the commentary files. I thought they'd be buried somewhere, but I guess not.

Hello! iF you want to have cheats like invinceable or ifinite oil or tinder boxes all you do is go on to documents / my documents go on amnesia then main then go on your profile name (example your amnesia profile name) then choose latest save then start up 'notepad' drag the save to notepad once notepad has started up. go on the notepad and click ctrl and F then a search menu comes up: then you type in the menu oil for the oil you will start with (you must have steam closed for this to work) when you load game type 'health' or 'tinderbox' or 'sanity' then look at the value (it depends what value is if your game is half way hurt your health will say 50.0000000 etc.) then change the value to 1000000 or something then start up steam start amnesia go on the save you changed and there 10000 tinders 10000000 hp and ifinite oil and sanity!!!! Hope this HELPED!!
