The puzzle box in Justine...
So rather than go through another trial and error process of restarting the entire game and getting the wrong slides inserted to try and save everyone I just looked up a walkthrough for the solution to get it over with, and still I don't understand what the logic behind it is (and can't find anything online explaining it). In a note "Father" is frustrated that Justine keeps placing slides of men facing the same direction, which I'd assume means that that is the wrong solution, yet 4 and 3 ARE facing the same direction. There's also something about him wanting Justine to use the sword slide (which seems to kill the priest instantly every time) so is there something I missed about her father wanting her to execute/torture people with the box (and therefore leading to the process of elimination that it's not the solution that would save him)? Why does 4 have to be on top of 3 and not vice versa? The notes you pick up in the area are either too cryptic or unspecific for me to infer this solution from them. Am I missing something or did the devs just decide to throw in an "adventure game puzzle" for the hell of it?

I say SCREW IT if you want to be able to get out, then dont save them but if you have a heart then you might want to save them

I totally know what you mean. I'm also not able to figure out why those slides in that order are the solution. Justine's diary didn't help in any way. Also, the phonograph in that area confused me. I think she said "Is the man begging for forgiveness or is he being blessed?" what equals the one kneeling and the one with open arms - at least for me - but...nope. I wonder if I'll ever understand it. Maybe someone at frictional derped and due to that the solution is not the intended one? I don't know. ^^

in the journal her father wrote mentioned justine always picked the ones facing together, and in the ones justine wrote she chose the man facing right (4) first and then the kneeling man (3)

She always picks the two facing together .. but he says "it's problematic because she does" .. So you would think that can't be the solution ?
It's all very confusing .. also in the notes Justine wrote , she also mentions the Slide 1 and 2 .. along with 3 and 4 .. Why pick the 3 and 4 out of the pack ?
