Recently I was downloaded the Amnesia Dark Descent and I liked to create my own stories and I had the same problem when I tried to run the Level Editor for the first time and I solved all problems.

The problem with missing SDL.Dll means you need to copy all files of the level editor in the amnesia game directory. Usually all Steam players should have their Amnesia game in the subdirectory of your computer in this path: "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Amnesia The Dark Descent"

So you copy all Level Editor files in the path above (Only for Steam players) For stand alone game version you place the files somewhere similar to the path above but without the "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\" maybe in program files directory or just "C:\Amnesia"

After this first problem when you will try to run the game, another annoying error appears and says about a missing dll file "MSVCP100.DLL" Here is the real problem. If you try to download manually the dll file from the internet from dll files repository and even if you put the dll file in the game directory with the level editor you will receive another error about the application not run and other unrelated things.

Also you will hassle about how to register the dll in windows registry and other stuff.

The real problem is you don't have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.
But here comes and another problem. Even if you have x64 version of windows and you download the x64 version of the Visual C++ Redistributable Package (Believing this is the one you need) I warning you, the level editor is little old and it was compiled with a x86 version of C++ compiler so you will need the x84 version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package even if your windows are 64bit Version.

If you ever try to register the dll manually and download the dll manually or put in the same path manually and try to fix it IT WILL NOT WORK.
In needs whole C++ Package installed because and other errors will appear.

This was fixed my Amnesia Level editor and it should yours too. (Happy Horror Story Making) :)
