Remember?
So its been a while since I tried this game. I got far but lost interest as the bad framerate eventually got to me and other titles caught my eye. Got a new PC and the game works pretty good with no isues but my problem is not with the game itself but with the options at the config menu steam gives me when I am running the game for the first time.

The settings screen is fine but at the bottom there are additional buttons labaled as "Remember" and "Justine" at either sides. Clicking on "Justine" took me to what looks like the actual game but different, I figure its a DLC. The "Remember" opens up a PDF file that reads like a book... and seems to keep referring to related characters from the actual game, namely the antagonist. Anywone care to tell me what the hell is going on? What am I reading? Its good and I can't seem to stop but what is this?

Also do I read this first as a primer to the main game? Does it have spoilers?

Remember is a few short stories of events that occur before the main game happens. There aren't necessarily spoilers, but personally I think it's best to go into Amnesia knowing as little about it as possible, so I'd suggest reading it after. It doesn't include anything you need to know, just fleshes out some back story, mostly for minor characters.

Justine takes place in the same universe, as evidenced in a few notes, but is otherwise unrelated to the main game. Just DLC :)

THanks for the info. I ended uo reading majority of them as they weren't bad at all. I guess this served as a pretty good primer for the base game. Is Justine any good? Is it worth delving into? I was going to finish this game and move on to Machine For PIgs and thene ventually Soma.

Yeah, I enjoyed Justine. It's pretty short, but death is permanent, so it can take a while if it takes a few tries. Quite the story though, definitely worth delving into.

Enjoy your Frictional Games adventures! If you haven't played them yet, I also recommend their Penumbra series. It's not quite as polished as Amnesia (and certainly compared to SOMA now), but they're very good games as well.
