I enjoyed playing Amnesia and I think you should definitely play it because no other game can match the amazing (and scary) atmosphere of The Dark Descent!
What a nice guy, calling 95% of the players dumb. Toxic without reason, how low is that?
DD actually feels like a real game, its actually a game that has me interested in its sequels like bunker and rebirth.
But getting back on topic in regards to the ops question, I really liked the insanity effects and the crushingly oppressive and dark atmosphere. The monsters are really just blockers to push stealth and hide gameplay. Its basically what influenced alien isolation which I did not like at all. Sorry to any isolation fans, I would of liked it more if they didn't treat a physical creature like a ghost and all physical objects besides fire just pass right through it. It wasn't realistic to the films, or the actual primal struggle of the alien. The alien was never suppose to be invincible and unstoppable and what you get in isolation is cool looking space stuff, cool weapons, and an alien that is better off avoided and not even looked at. All you fight is some androids and a few human enemies. Was not a fan of isolation, when people bash DD they are actually bashing a horror classic not a sci fi rehash that doesn't even fit the feeling of dd. You are disturbed by the story, the castle, the events, and the atmosphere, I could care less about the monsters.
