Amnesia don't start on Ubuntu 18.04.1

I'm trying to play Amnesia on my Dell G3 running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS without success. When I click on Play it opens a small window for a 1-2seg and it closes. It happens in both graphics cards (Nvidia and Intel).
How can I to fix it?

The game also does not load here. My distro is KDE Neon 5.14.5.

I discovered a way to run the launcher on linux. I believe it works for any distro.
It looks like the game has a problem detecting the game ID. We should add this setting in the game path.

To fix (in terminal):
cd ~/Steam/SteamApps/path/to/binary/
echo "57300" > steam_appid.txt

Note: Replace '/path/to/binary/' with the current path where you launch the game. My path is like this:
~ /.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Amnesia The Dark Descent

Once you do this the Launcher.bin.x86_64 file will open and you will be able to run the game. The problem is that it does not open through the Steam. Then you should create a shortcut to the application with the file path: /home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Amnesia The Dark Descent/Launcher.bin.x86_64
Replace "user" with your user. After that you will be able to open through the shortcut being logged in with your Steam account.

Recently I reinstaled this game in several xbuntu flavors, all with the same issue, the game did not start from Steam Library. Anyway, in the game folder there is a binary: Amnesia_NOSTEAM.bin.x86_64 , run it does the trick, I just put a link to it in the desktop.

I'm really surprised it's not fixed yet, I even reported it on Frictional official forum a year ago and nothing happened. Amnesia Rebirth is coming and whoever buys the previous games on Linux won't be able to play them without googling even though the fix would take developers 5 minutes. Disappointing.

And not fixed yet. Ok. They effectively became one of the laziest indie companies. This is just one of many bugs plaguing Mac and Linux versions. Last time I reported a bug to them they replied something like "we prefer not to visit out office because there's covid out there".

From one of my most favourite companies to another indie trash. Job well done.
