Remap iBuffalo Classic USB Gamepad buttons

Hi. I play this game with a iBuffalo Classic USB Gamepad (Looks like a SNES gamepad) on a iMac with OSX.

The buttons are mapped wrong. The LB and RB buttons are mapped to the B and A buttons, and the B and A buttons are mapped to the Y and X buttons, so the controls are kinda messed up.

I find no way to remap the buttons, how should I do it? When I go to controller settings it does not let me remap the buttons, there is no such option. Thank you for any information regarding this.

Most games don't let you remap buttons, that's quite normal. It's the controller software that sucks...

Maybe -- just maybe; I have a real XBox controller so I don't need stuff like that -- you can do something with the Steam controller support.

Thank you. Haven't really tried this controller with steam before. Mostly used it for emulators.
I will try with my Xbox-controller also to see how that works.
