Yup, when the shield icon flashes on your screen. Normally happens before the hit hits you, you are suppose to push the guard break button to counter it. However, there is as I said an input delay so you have to estimate when it is coming.
Np.
Also it gives you enough time to break if you have your hand correctly on the mouse
I can't see this game doing very well if ppl are losing to that BS and ppl who are not very good winning because of that BS.
Actually I have had almost no problems defending myself from both attacks, if you pay attention to what is going on around you, and you dodge roll in the right direction when prompted, you can avoid them. Once you roll out of the way, they are usually open for a few light attacks, so go ahead and punish them for relying on one attack the whole time.
This game has a very deep combat system. Took me a while, but I find dodging to be the only sure defence, and so once I get used to the idea that parry doesn't save you from everything, I started to rely on dodging mechanics and I basically become un-touchable if I do it right.
The devs have really thought out their combat system, there isn't an attack that beats everything else. You just have to be willing to fight more defensively and resist the urge to run in and swing until one of you dies. Definately a game that goes against everything we as gamers have learned over the years.
On controller you have to first move your thump to it and then press it.
Same with dodge and feint.
