Strategy for Operation Epsom (British Campaign)
My god this campaign is tough. I finally was victorious as the British last night after a change in strategy.

Initially I decided to cover my advancing troops with smoke from artillery and support the AI tank battlaion with infantry units to knock out the AA. The problem with this plan is that for all lead elements to survive in tact and reach Cheux, one had to move the soldiers very rapidly across open ground which led to high casualty rates amongst the infantry on the left flank.

The plan that did work was as follows. Stuart light tanks with recon support swung around to the left side of the map, pinning down reinforcing infantry units entering Cheux from the West. At the same time, British infantry on the furthest Eastern flank knock out Pak 44's and light tank units to give the AI tank battalion free reign in that region.

Now the critical decision that led to my victory was this. Only attack Cheux once Phase B units have been knocked out. I created a horseshoe frontline around cheux, whilst bombarding advancing elements of 2nd SS. It is critical to keep your artillery re-supplied if you wish to hold Cheux.

I forced the withdrawal of 2nd SS within 26 minutes. I barely held onto Cheux with just a few infantry and piat unit, but I held!
