Can we have a discussion over MLRS?
Im gonna keep bringing this up, because this is a GLARING issue to me right now
Arty/mortars in general, but especially MLRS systems (nebelwerfer, the american one, etc) are too powerful

I was playing a destruction game, and i successfully orchestrated a well planned and coordinated assault to take an enemy held town through a combination of smoke, mortars, and machine guns, and won it.
I start digging in, B phase starts, and almost within a minute, my entire force in the town is wiped COMPLETELY from two of these things without the enemy even having to risk his force

Im sorry, but I dont think these weapons were THAT effective, because other wise, why even bother with standard artillery, and that is the realism side.

Gameplay side, that is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Its a complete "I win button". Make it a wide area panic button sure, but it should not single handedely wipe out a town and garrison. And make them C phase, something that powerful and game winning, should ONLY be availble as a C phase weapon.

I simply cannot enjoy playing this game, with the knowledge that all a player has to do to win is use these damn things. ANd their reload time SHOULD be immense. For the remaining 5 minutes I stayed before I left (if im not having fun, im not gonna keep playing) i got barraged by the same ones at least 5 times

Flat out game breaking in my opinion

Flat out game breaking in my opinion

It's a defensive weapon. Not useful against tanks (out of stressing them) but good to kill vehicles and other infantry. Specially if they are compact;) Of course calliope, nebelwerfer or mlrs are good vs infantry but they need to be because they were used against them. And it's good like that. I like the historically accuracy.

I remember seeing in a documentary (sure it was a documentary on CAEN) were it claimed that it was estimated that 2/3rds of all Canadian/British infantry casualties were attributed to nebelwerfer artillery

24.39 and i got it wrong its claimed that it caused 3/4 of all infantry casualties

I think durring the war something like 40% of combat casualties were a result of artillery. At least it was down from the 70% that was WW I.

OK, so maybe not the historical, but i still doubt that 2 nebelwerfers single handedly leveled a town

Gameplay wise, its just bad, and simply not fun. Its the WORST kinda of arty camp fest that ensues
Was every building of the town destroyed by 2 Nebelwerfers?
What about counterstriking with your aircrafts or artillery?

Yeah I know what you mean. The thing I try and do is to move and disperse my units once I take a position. I try and never leave a unit in the same position after a firefight. But with the area of effect of some of the MLRS types that can kind be a near impossible challenge. That's what I've tried to do at least.

It's a bit hard to counterbattery when all their arty outranges yours

Yes, the calliope sherman is to strong for this cheap prices but... it just shoot 50 missles and you can not really destroy him with art or any aircraft. In history bombers were easily able to kill the roket construction on the top. But I do not think that we should start to nerf anti inf weapons just because they kill alot of inf. That is their job! And weapons like nebelwerfer are pretty easy to counter. Just use aircrafts or other art. It's so slow it can not hide and it's not armored. Easy to get 125 points xD
Agree that reload time should be increased dramatically for MLRS. When I'm really dug in, these are quite literally the only thing that can break me, and boy is it infuriating to see an entire flank evaporate/retreat.

it's stopping campers. I like that. It's important otherwise the game would be just a longe range art camping game.

Ps: I hate it also if these rokets kill my people in houses but ya.. you can use them too or not? And it's an important part of the game. Yes, ok the mlrs reload time is very fast but still. They should not nerf it to much. Do not forget that the the mlrs has no armor. So if you nerf the reloadspeed then maybe make it cheaper. But I think it's good like that.

In destruction mode it's not called "camping", it's called "winning"

Its not camping, its called a defensive position, and its only worth anything if established in a valuable location. Players should not be punished for successfully taking the enemy's ground and holding it. You should have to fight for it back

Yeah it's not as if the rest of their arty is also fantastic, Or SS Stormtroopers, Or the Phase A 2 star StuG
