Good battlegroups for beginners.
Hey, I just wanted to know if there are battlegroups, which are more beginnerfriendly than others. Its my first game in this kind of genre and Im still very much overwhelmed by all those units and their pros and cons. So is there any battlegroup more easy for beginners? :)

It's a matter of personal taste and play style which division you choose but may i humbly suggest you try the 15th Scottish Division to get you started.

A well rounded balanced Division that can play well on most if not all the maps. (have not played Hill 112 yet so cannot be sure they will do well there)

On the Axis side 12. SS-Panzer might be good starter. Good selection of units for most phases and they shouldn't run out of early game infantry as easily as some other Panzer divisions. Apart from Kingtiger they don't miss any too important unit types.

I would say US 3rd Armored & 21. Panzerdivision should be the easiest divisions to handle.

Start with the 21. Panzer, German tanks are much better than allied ones in game so you will lose less units and not find yourself completely outmatched at range.

I would think the 2nd Infantry is easiest for the Allied divisions. The 3rd Armored has weaker AT guns and MGs than the 2nd Infantry, along with fewer points in Phase A. That makes competing hard before you get the Shermans rolling. Even when you do get them rolling, your best AP caps out at like 13, meaning you have to get fancy to take out Panthers or Tigers.

2nd Infantry feels like the most balanced Allied division to me. Scottish are fairly even as well, with a bit of everything.

Avoid the Airborne, Poles, and French.

I suggested 3rd AD or 21. Pz because people usually are more at ease using tanks than AT guns or infantry. And both those division have the whole array of tanks, from light to heavy and enough from phase A to C.

True, though I personally find tanks much harder to use than infantry and AT guns. The ground pounders are cheap and take damage when you put them in the wrong place, whereas tanks are expensive and explode instantly. Infantry do their own recon, tanks are reliant on support.

I'm also bad at the game, though, and have had very limited success using armor to push or penetrate a line, while have had much more success with using infantry to probe a wide area and advance where people leave holes.

I agree ... and also favors infantry warfare over armored. I usually only bring tanks late, by the numbers for a final unskilled offensive. :)

I've been enjoying the Screaming Eagles lately. Which is probably not good for my tank skills, as my current deck provides all of six base Shermans by Phase C. Good luck pushing with that.

I have learned how to get good use out of bazookas and gammon bombs, though. Killed a KT with a deep infiltrated recon team using the gammon bombs.
