If you really hate the game that much, why bother ranting about it here? for someone complaining about wasted time, the irony in this post is frankly uncanny.
I'm pretty sure this is a troll post, but in the event that you actually serious about this, I pity you. It's quite unfortunate to obsess over something you hate and let it occupy a place in your head.
I hope you find peace, you poor soul.
Honestly, it's less "complaining" and more "a desire to enjoy the game but an impossibility of doing so".
I want to enjoy the game; after all the dev spent time, money and energy making it. But it's impossible for me to do so without convincing.
Furthermore I didn't obsess over it. It wasn't even in my thoughts until I saw this announcement.
AWSW does NOT deserve a sequel game. It deserves to be destroyed IMHO. Taken down and banned from Steam, the Nintendo store and every single other place.
I love dragons and I thought I'd have an opportunity to save these dragons. But in the end all my efforts to do so were for nothing.
I mean, if you spend three long hours working on something you expect to have some kind of positive result, especially if you're working towards one, am I right?
To not get such a result is just off-putting in the extreme. All that hard work, all those hours put into a task, for nothing.
If even one of those dragons had survived, then I would have enjoyed the game and might have replayed it as so many people are suggesting. But because they didn't, because my efforts were for nothing, then I don't feel like doing so.
*sigh* well.... they do survive if you get a good ending. To get it as other people said before. First you have to get a bad ending with a dragon and then you can get a good ending with them by just playing again. of course there are some extra stuff you might have to do but there are guides on steam that can help you. I'm not even sure if you even opened the game and tried to play it
But if you spend three hours on a task, then you find out your hard work is for literally no result, then you're highly likely to be put off, forever.
If even a little bit of that work actually did something though, then you're far more likely to try again, so you're more likely to succeed the next time.
Let's use an analogy:
Imagine you're fixing up a classic car from the 1930s. Restoring it for use. You spend hours rebuilding the engine, the fuel systems and everything. You even update it so it works with modern gasoline mixtures. Then you work on the insides, carefully restoring the leather seats, the molding, the dashboard, the console, the gauges. Next you work on the outside, with incredible attention to detail.
Everything is ready, everything is perfect. You did everything right, you followed the entire process to the letter. You start it up for your first test drive, annnnd....
BOOM.
Everything explodes, not even scrap value left. All that hard work you did, all those hours of time you put in, all that money you spent, everything you've done correctly, and it all turns out to have been a waste of time, energy and money.
That's how I feel about AWSW. After my first playthrough I was so disgusted I wanted to refund it, but Steam doesn't allow refunds over two hours.
I'm still hesitant to try again, even though I've been convinced to do so.
Because players' hard work is for nothing. If you get a bad ending, then the whole point of the game is for naught.
I mean, how are you supposed to enjoy a dragon dating game, if you can't even save the ones you love?
Even if a single dragon survived in the bad endings, then your work would mean something. Because nobody lives, you have no incentive to try again.
Yes, actually it is.
Because everyone has died, there's no reason to play the game again. You spent three long hours working on something only to discover that your work is for naught.
"You can save them if you play the game again" - but what's the point? Why would you WANT to play the game again, if your first run through was for nothing? The incentive, the desire to replay, is gone.
As for the many positive reviews, I dunno. I mean, it's quite possible that everyone here is insane. Including myself, for that matter.
It's like dating, or job hunting, or etcetera: The first impression is the most important. And I got a very bad first impression from this game. Too many blood red flags.
Hopefully you understand now.
So you think I'm a troll. You're wrong.
You not only had my point completely fly over your head, but also you took my what I was saying, all my explanations and turned them into "you want attention".
What kind of person are you? Obviously not the smart kind, otherwise you'd be able to see what I meant.
I poured my heart and soul into AWSW. I expected to see results on my first playthrough, even if it didn't turn out for the absolute best.
You can have a bad ending without it being "everyone you love and care about, dies."
The one thing I never wanted was to be a troll. All I wanted, was a reason to play this game again.
Turns out I got that reason, but I'm hesitant to play again because I don't want things to end the same way.
I'm going to fire up the game again, but I'm going to go in blind. If I get a bad ending again, then my review stands: Delete the game from everywhere and end the developer's entire career.
This game was also the thing i didnt wanted to play , but alas i found potential .
Your review was also two years ago? Go play something else and ignore the game. simple. There is no need to ruin peoples enjoyment for the next game by talking ♥♥♥♥ about the first one here.
