How do you pronounce "Adine"?
I always pronounced it as "ayy-deen" but it occurred to me that I don't know if this is right.

I imagine it as "Ah-deen".
With love and care?..

I never knew the community was this divided on this. I always pronounced it "uh-deen"

I'd like to know this as well.

Various resources on the internet are divided on whether it's:
uh-deen (most common,) or
uh-deenee (I think this one is mostly in non-English languages.)
A few friends think it should be pronounced:
uh-dine.

I've been calling her the first (uh-deen.)

Maybe M.B. Saunders wants us to leave it up to interpretation, you know, whatever we prefer? I dunno.

And at this point, this is just matter of taste?

A while back there was a discussion that led into pronunciation of the characters' names. M.B. Saunders responded to it but didn't say much on the matter of what the actual pronunciations are.

Oh, I see... Thanks for the explanation anyway.

Been calling her a-dine.

Nothing wrong per se with leaving it up to interpretation, but it'd be nice to have at least the *option* of adhering to some sort of a consensus. I'd feel better about changing the way I think of a name if I knew it was intended that way. Gets confusing when talking to someone who came to pronounce the name differently, and neither understandably wants to change.

Good point. In my case it's just a curiosity. I think that there is not much difference, how to pronounce their names. For example, you pronounce her name like Ayy-deen and your friend pronounce it like Ah-deen or A-deen. I'm definetely sure - both of you will understend eachother.
