The game won't start :(

I just bought the game yesterday but whenever I press "Play" it automatically stops itself before a window can even appear. Am I the only one having this problem?

I think you might be missing some required dll's file, such as X3DAudio1_7.

Go here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35
and download the DirectX runtime. It fixed this issue for me and I'm running Windows 11.

I've just had this issue on Windows 11 and when trying the DirectX runtime download it tells me that I have a more up to date version so it won't install anything.

Resolved by installing both x64 and x86 files from https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/update-for-visual-c-2013-and-visual-c-redistributable-package-18d278e8-1c79-2630-e8ae-e9f4679b2393 (linked as the updated version from https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=40784).
