Try playing in dx12. It's not perfect but I was able to complete the game.
Asus: Sonic Studio
Dell/Alienware: Alienware command Center
Gigabyte: Aorus utility
MSI: Dragoncenter
In some cases, the OEM is even just using a customized realtek driver package which contains or triggers the installation of the nahimic apo and its services, or modifies the nahimic services to have their own branding (Razer Kraken, EVGA Nu, etc)
The nahimic overlay provider interferes with opengl's ability to enumerate displays during renderer creation (but not if performed immediately at app start)
It also causes graphical artifacts in some cases with some opengl, and directx/UWP applications.
You can stop/disable "Nahimic service" in "Services.msc".
Add the KOF executable to the blacklist in C:\ProgramData\A-Volute\A-Volute.Nahimic\Modules\Scheduled\Configurator\BlackApps.dat
or go nuclear and purge every software that triggers the installation of nahimic from the machine.
Thanks a million for your knowledge and quick response fellow Guru. After so many months of e-mails, troubleshooting and frustration, we finally have relief. Many of us still enjoy KOF XIV and spent nice bucks to purchase it. It is nice to learn additional troubleshooting tactics that will help me and others in the future.
I'm happy to report the results of my latest fight session. Not a hitch or glitch. The cutscenes did not have graphical errors and no crashing.
Thanks again,
TheDigitalJedi
post a redacted msinfo32 file to google drive,
Razer Kraken uses modified nahimic services, its still nahimic and has the same issues.

How to do that? -dx12 or -dx11 is not working. Shows always OpenGL in Afterburner Info.

This APP prevents your harddrives to spin down after some minutes, wich can brake Games.
Riva Tuner:
Turn off the OSD
The Game runs perfectly now ( even with the newest NVidia Drivers!) and even the loading times are faster between character swaps in the middle of a fight.
Optional you can try the following things:
- close Afterburner MSI / Riva Tuner
- close NVidia Experience
- close Parkcontrol
Try -DX12 in your Game (did not work for me)
Hope this will help some other people
Have fun!
i7-7700HQ
GTX 1060 6Gb
32Gb of RAM
1TB SSD (where the game is installed)
G-Sync compatible monitor
Windows 10
(Everything up-to-date)
Tried the popular -dx12 and it didn't do anything for me. Visual glitch on split-screen dialogue and crashing remained.
What did work for me, though, was NOT HAVING DISCORD'S ONSCREEN OVERLAY TURNED ON. So, if you're having the same problem and you're using Discord, do that (you can still have voice calls and share screen, but NO ONSCREEN OVERLAY or it will make the game crash after a couple fights).
I'm having the same problem with the game crashing.
I've analyzed the dump file when it crashes, and I think it's a problem with the Nvidia resources, just like you.

I tried switching to Radeon, and it no longer crashes.
I was able to clear the game for the first time after switching to Radeon.
The CPU is AMD Ryzen 7900X.
The GPU is AMD Radeon RX6800.
I think there are people who have submitted bug reports. I am also considering submitting a bug report and requesting improvements to the Nvidia driver as a highly likely hypothesis.
In my case, I am experiencing the same error with Nvidia Geforce GTX1070 and RTX3060. The symptoms are that some images are distorted in story mode and the game crashes.
