Kinda crucial to have that for a fighting game.
Also, good job throwing away 8 years of work getting an install base established across europe for franchises that never broke through here until they ended up on steam. Excellent moves all around. Superb. Goodbye, Esaka. Again.

🤨
Steam is a good platform, so yeah...they should release here!
It's like saying, do you want the Samurai Showdown arcade cabinet installed in your game room, or the little rickety shed in the backyard? I could play it either way, but less people are gonna be in that shed, and it's less convenient since for me to use. Steam is the game room, EGS is the shed in the backyard.
If EGS had a community forum (and no, Discord doesn't cut it, neither does high-jacking Steam's forums), a remote play option, achievements, a way to track how many people were playing online, and a screenshot capability, etc...then I wouldn't mind so much. In fact, Epic already put some of those items on a roadmap and it's a year later and all they've added is a shopping cart and reviews (no user reviews, reviews from publications for the crossplatform version of games), which is pathetic.
Finally, I'm not personally an SNK fan, but I'd like to be. I just know that EGS has enough of a bad reputation with people that it's going to negatively impact the player base, which means a harder time finding matches online, which is bad.
I’m surprised there hasn’t been any other news or confirmation from SNK regarding the PC release of Samurai Shodown. Maybe SNK is having second thoughts about making it epic games exclusive given the negative reception?
I come from a country where we never got SNK games. My only experiences with their fighting game franchises were extremely late PS2 ports of later KOF games, a single even later port of one of the samsho games, and the Capcom VS SNK games. Until steam, I never got to play garou, most of the KOF series, metal slug, or much of anything.
KOF 13 is one of my favorite fighting games, and I'd have missed out on it completely had it not been for the steam release. The steam release of it was also the catalyst for me getting my online group into fighting games as a whole, and why I even returned to series like guilty gear in full force: because I realized there was a unified platform for fighting games, at long last. Them doing this breaks my heart, and returns us to the old days when everything's fractured and I have to hunt around for the games, and maybe these players aren't on epic/fightcade/mame/this forum, so I have to go to X, and Y, and check if there's an online patch I can apply, and...
At that point, why even bother? The answer is: I won't bother. I'll stick with arcsys. Capcom and SNK obviously can't be trusted or depended upon anymore. It's a shame, but they made their beds, and now they have to sleep in them.
I wouldn’t get this close to ArcSys, especially with the reception of the recent Guilty Gear Strive beta that happened last weekend. Same goes for their dlc practices (see also BB Cross Tag Battle). But to be fair, despite the Samurai Shodown PC fiasco, SNK is the lesser of two evils IMO)
Whatever the case, I wish they'd announce a release date! I'm guessing the pandemic will delay the port even further...
KOF XV’s funding will have even more issues if they make Samurai Shodown an Epic Games exclusive. I guarantee you that SNK will make more money and secure more KOF XV money if it gets released on Steam or heck, even GOG (the only two pc gaming services I’ll take over Epic Games and Origin).
Hi everyone, I’m Max Kubler, founder of AOne Games and I wanted to introduce myself just to give you some information regarding on Omen Of Sorrow. At the moment we are 3 persons working on the ports of the game and we will keep pushing to go forward. A steam release is on the way. ( I would say mid 2020 ).We have the good will to listen to everyone to improve the game and now we understand not to get in fights with the trolls or any person who hates our game or people who wants to put us down.
We truly apologize on what happend at the Epic store release. We put so many passion and effort and it was a big mistake to get in those fights. We are still trying to make our best. ( We are also humans and we also make mistakes , if you know what I mean). Let’s move forward, we still want our game to be a fun game for everyone !!
Regarding the other characters we needed to prioritize the port of the game to the other platforms because the game didn’t sold well. We hope to get more sales this year to have the enough money to make the other characters. We will try after the next releases to have at least one more character this year.

Not super relevant to this discussion, especially since this isn't an established franchise, but another example of a fighting game I wanted to play but didn't think there'd be much exposure oi much of a community on PC (due to the exclusivity). Also, EGS doesn't have anywhere to post discussions, so it all comes back to Steam...
