Do You Recommend Pre-ordering This And Why/Why Not?
This sounds like a great game. From what I've heard, the graphics aren't too great but the mechanics are top-notch which is what's most important in my opinion in a fighting game or in gaming in general really.

I have heard some say that they don't like this as much as other versions of KOF and that they are having issues with the beta. What is your opinion of the game on Steam? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Don't let the graphics fool you, the game feels and plays very much like a traditional 2D fighter and yes the mechanics are very solid. I highly recommend pre-ordering for the discount and helping to support a really cool series and help the playerbase grow.

As for beta issues, I had a couple framerate issues with a few characters and stages but thankfully the devs managed to patch those problems out and the netcode is pretty good in my opinion. I live on the east coast of the US and I managed to have smooth matches with players in Brazil and Mexico. As for players saying they don't like this compared to older KoFs, they most likely mean KoF XIII which was a bit of an anamoly as far as KoFs go.

I'm a really a snk fighting game fan and can say this game is a good entry on the series.
For me, not as good as 13, but still one of the best kof game, like 98,2002.
Plus, there is a lot of new characters, new mechanics and the first chapter of a new story

So, if you are a 2D fighting game lover, this is the game for you, for sure.

They (SNK) have a track record of post launch support on KOF titles.

I don't get all the talk about bad graphics. From what I understand, it used to look a lot worse on console before a patch got put out to update the graphics. We're getting the updated graphics straight away, and it all looks gorgeous to me.

The graphics aren't anything too spectacular, but some of the exaggerated animations and supers make up for it. King of Dinosaurs is a good example of this where he "hits" your screen and it looks like it cracked. Graphics will be the last thing on your mind while you're playing.

Each KoF is pretty unique and this one is no exception. Everybody has their own preferences and I enjoy this one quite a bit.

As for the beta, I went from crashing just for looking at my player data and finished with just having one bad online game before the beta ended. I didn't even get to try the final version that mentioned some netcode fixes. Either way, the final version I got to play (1.06) was good for me.

I would recommend buying it before the 20% discount ends. If it's not to your liking or something is wrong and not fixed within two weeks of purchase then refund it.

The complaints are it looks like a mobile game.

But seriously, KOF was never known for high end graphics and this game isnt an exception.

From what I have played of KoF14 (on ps4) the graphics to me are very attractive. They are high resolution, yet simple models. they didn't go all crazy with bump mapping cloth textures and moddeling each strand of hair because at the end of the day. it's a fast paced 2d shooter that needs solid readability. The simple models look great to me. the shaders are on point, and it helps keep the game running buttery smooth at high res with high settinngs, even on older hardware.
Something Tekken 7 and SFV cannot claim.

Because Marvel vs Capcom 3 still looks awesome today, and Capcom is supposed to be a huge company.
