Zork Nemesis: The Forbidden Lands

Zork Nemesis: The Forbidden Lands

Mouse Sensitivity is too High: Please fix (fix included)
The default mouse sensitivity for the game is dramatically too high. Please fix this by lowering the default mouse sensiivity.

For those playing the game, you can fix this by the following:
Open <your steam directory>/steamapps/common/Zork Nemesis The Forbidden Lands/Zork_Nemesis/DOSBOX/dosBoxZorkNemesis.conf

You can also open this file by clicking on Zork Nemesis in your Steam games list, right clicking, clicking Properties, Local Files, Browse Local Files. Then double click to Zork_Nemesis/DOSBOX/ and open dosBoxZorkNemesis.conf

You can open the file in Notepad.

Change:
sensitivity=100

To:
sensitivity=75

Save the file, then launch.

(You can play around with the number. 75 is a little on the low side, but 100 is way too high)

Activision please fix this, this is a very very very easy change to make

You're awesome. I came here just to check on this before I started playing!!

I bought Zork Nemesis from GOG, and the panning speed is staggering. Since there was a solution offered for this Steam version, I bought this one too. I did as instructed above. The mouse moves slower, yes--but the panning speed is still too fast. I slowed the mouse sensitivity to 10: the mouse barely moved on the screen, but whenever I panned around, I was still going so fast it left my head spinning and unable to stop. In a microsecond, I'd done like a dozen rotations already! So... this fixes the mouse sensitivity in everything except panning which is the main problem. Therefore, this is only a partial fix IMHO. Has there been any updates on this?

Sensitivity is how fast the mouse moves.
The ingame Ctrl+P panning speed is how fast it scrolls to the sides when you move the mouse to the edge of the screen.
If you set the sensitivity from 100 to 1, the panning speed remains exactly the same.

The only way to get proper panning speed is to either use the lowest panning value with "full double" set to true, but full double causes game lag, but the panning is normal not sonic on crack.

The best way to fix it is in gog forum someone suggested to put a fixed cycles value of "cycles=fixed 150000", I have no idea how much different is that from "max" value.
https://www.gog.com/forum/zork_series/zork_nemesis_dosbox_configuration_fix_window_size_and_scroll_speed

Anyways the panning value is working properly now.

(the window size he mentions in there doesn't matter, as by default it's already fixed)

Also mind that verifying the game files will redownload the config file.
