[SPOILERS] I have so many problems with the endings
I've gotten all of the endings, but its hard for me to say that any of them are "good" (That's not to say that the game wasn't good) I'll admit, I was seduced by LC. I got LC ending 2 my first try and I felt... unsettled. I thought there was a bug that forced me back to the main menu. I just couldn't believe that was it.

I replayed the game to unlock all of the endings in an effort to figure out what the ♥♥♥♥ just happened. I did like the modern tiger ending, and the clouded leopard's happy ending, but no matter what I just felt betrayed by LC.

Having unlocked what I think is the only "true" ending, the one where all 3 cats are at the end, I can't say that I'm happy with the outcome. Its hard for me to accept that LC is changed by Lin Hu's purification and I don't want the MC to date him. I can't shake the feeling that LC is still lying about his feelings for the MC just because his other option is to die. and considering all that's happened, I don't feel like the game ever gave me a reason to forgive him. I want to like the ending where CL kills LC but its all too sudden. Its over too quickly, we don't even get to see LC's dead body. I almost feel like he got away or something. (and I don't think a better fight scene would be been any better, it would still be a sad ending to me)

And as for LC's two bad endings, they're so similar. I assume he eats the MC's soul at the end. I think the talking point here has to do with what another discussion brought up, which is that there is a possibility that LC actually did come to love MC and regrets what hes about to do, but I'm not sure I buy that either. He did continue to lie to MC right up to the very end. I don't think hes remorseful or at least no where near enough to forgive him.

Another point I've seen brought up is that if you comfort him in the arcade (possibly also dependent on other choices) he'll say "if only I were human" implying that he doesn't actually want to kill MC. While I have no explanation for this, it just strikes me the wrong way that even still he lies to the end. Even in the true ending, he states that he doesn't have feelings for MC. Senpai might have, but LC chose to possess Senpai simply because he was close to MC and was gay. I know LC becomes part of who he eats, but I don't think that it would change his personality. I see that more as gaining the knowledge of his prey to simply become a more effective hunter, simply putting that knowledge away like a tool to be used later.

Whats worse is I'm not sure what I want. I don't know what my perfect ending would be. I guess I want LC to understand and feel how his evil has hurt others and be genuinely sorry for that, and even still I don't want MC to forgive him completely. I don't want him to become a pseudo god or get to live happily ever after, but I also don't want to just kill him.

Also some people excuse him because they think he has to eat, but he states very clearly in the end of the true ending that he did what he did because he wanted to. Taking this into consideration, I think if he truly fell for MC he would have changed his ways or confessed or something.

tldr; I fell for LC, trusted him, feel betrayed, and can't reconcile my feelings toward him or any of the game's endings. Overall it was a good game, I just wish things hadn't turned out the way they did.

At the first,for LC,all the experience,the relation between human,the things that says and does and even the emotion,is just good tools to get the more strength.LC was a killer just like a hunter…or a criminal in the ending way.(it's OK to say LC is selfish,but…is there anyone can consider totally for others?)when the time passing by,MC did a thing(I have enough power to prevent death that can caused by LC,but LC also have 'his' true feeling---influenced by MC,u can see 'him' crying so sadly in the PV,ummm…it's OK for u to say it was just another show)at all,not any killer is cold.(poor in English,sorry )

My suggestion is that don't take LC as a normal character like the other two cats. He was an evil spirit who saw world from a different kind of way. Don't expect him to be so sorry about what he has done because he didn't follow human logic! Maybe for normal people, they meet, date, betray each other, then feel guilty, cry, hug, forgive and do their best to compensate...Happy ending! This may be most people's expectation. But not for LC. He never knew how to react to his true feeling about Liao because he was neither a human nor a good spirit like Lin Hu. That's why he acted like a jerk in the last scene. Liao wanted a sorry from LC but all he could gave was his instinct to be evil. After Lin Hu gave half his spirit to LC, he finally got to see things like a human and asked to start a relationship with Liao.

OP, I completely agree with you. None of the endings are satisfying, and it is extremely disappointing because I was loving this novel up until the end.

I wish Leopard Cat's final speech (after he's come back to Liao's room) would have gone like this:

~~~
Leopard Cat regretfully admits that yes, he wanted to eat Liao's spirit. In the beginning, he did not care about Liao whatsoever. All of his romantic gestures and cute behaviors were merely Senpai's personality coming through, which Leopard Cat was ok with since it was helping him get close to Liao. He was merely a yaoguai, driven by his desire to eat.
Leopard cat then explains that as the days and weeks went on, something inside of him started to change. He was starting to... actually care about Liao. When he realized this, he became conflicted. The more time he spent with Liao and the other cats, the more he fell in love with Liao. Still, though, he was consumed by the desire to eat Liao. "Why do I care about Liao at all?" he wondered. Was there something pure about Laio? Were the other two cats having an impact on him? This conflict between loving Liao and his desire to eat Liao was absolutely tearing him apart.
In the end, Leopard Cat's yaoguai nature overcomes him, and he creates the scheme to get Liao's spirit. It wrecked him to do what he was doing, but he didn't have the strength to resist the urge. Leopard Cat admits that, even now, he has the desire to eat Liao despite loving him. He apologizes for what he is, and expresses his hatred for his evil nature.
Lin Hu, then touched by Leopard Cat's remorse, and seeing that there is a little bit of goodness inside of Leopard Cat, takes pity on him and gives him part of his spirit so that Leopard Cat will have the strength to behave like a normal person.
Now, even besides Leopard Cat's poor character, I don't think Nekojishi has a great ending, but I could at least be at peace with it if Leopard Cat was the way I described.
TL:DR: The true ending would be way better if Leopard Cat expressed his love for Liao, and expressed genuine remorse for his yaoguai nature.
Didn't LC mention that he did develop feelings for Liao in his speech despite wanting to eat him?
Personally, I like the ending with all 3 cats because the others are just so damn sad. I haven't even gotten to all of them because after the first 'true ending' with Likulau killing LC, you end up with none of them in the end and that's super depressing. So I'll take evil LC over nothing (and truthfully, he's my favorite anyway despite everything). But I can understand your dissatisfaction with what is pretty much the happiest of all the endings, OP.
The problem is that LC in his nature is "evil" like he explains an animal doesn't know if it's good or bad to eat others. But for him he realized this to late either after his first or second human. So at that point he believes that he must get stronger to survive as he said in the yaoguai world you will be eaten or killed by others stronger than you. Also he did express genuine remorse for it after Lin Hu changes him.
This is in his nature. At this point in the game as he said he can't change as he even stated when you offered to build his own temple he in his mind denied it feeling that you were lying to him.
So in his nature he won't ever be able to do that. The entire point of it was that Liao fell in love with LC even with his initial personality.
Have you played the DLC?
tbh, same, i know hes an animal that doesnt know better but its not that simple, what about all the other humans he ate, even yan shu-chi, for him to just play an act of faking being yan shu-chi is so messed up, and to end even worse he dates liao ???????????? like, why ? i dont undertand, i didnt see the ending where likulau kills him but i think this will probably be the better ending, if a bear kills a lot of humans he should be killed, its not about the safety anymore its more sentimental, he doesnt deserve to live anymore
finally scrolled far enough to find a relatable post, i know this is already years but this is exactly how i felt after knowing all the endings, LC's 2nd ending was my first too, the writing have so many hiccups which are insane, but still this game is free so i can't complain much lmao
