Local multiplayer with 6-8 players

So yesterday i tried this game with a bunch of friends but you can't add more than 4 guests, so 5 players. I would like to play this game local with 6-8 players, 3v3 or 4v4. Any chance for a fix for this? Because the layout already looks made for 8 players. The sixth controller is clearly registered on the system and in steam, but it just doesn't show up in game.

Oh apparently its my fault. I didn't know that you are limited to 4 Xinput controllers at a time. Tried it with directinput controllers and i could add a sixth controller. (And probably a 7th and 8th)

Hey, we are currently 3 ppl try in to play together. How can we add a third Player? We even got three Controller - Not Sure wether the third works tho. Tanks in advance!

is there a way to play with friends if only one player owns the game?

been trying to find a way to find couch local mode for an hour now

Just Hit local multiplayer - how ever it seems that you need a Controller for each Player

Pressing A or 1 or X worked with me. What controllers do you use?

when i tested it, we could only get 4 players locally, with one controller each. The extra players' controllers just didnt respond to any commands.

and yes to add someone locally, you need to have the controller plugged in and press any button.
