Not working: stuck in 'Unresponsive' state
Other Steam VR games are working fine, but X Rebirth VR Edition refuses to cooperate. That is what I see on a main screen - https://www.dropbox.com/s/swlnfxbz2uj6qg1/unresponsive.PNG?dl=0 along with the windowed game in non-vr, while in the HMD it just shows that steam game art with endless progress spinner I guess I can call it. Using Trinus VR. I get it is not entirely supported, but it should give some output, I think or I am missing something crucial here? Can I force it into VR mode or something?

This game makes use of the little sensor that tells the HMD if its on your face or not. It could be that your Trinus thing doesn't support that? Just a shot in the dark.

Yeah, probably, I think... But is there a way to override that? Like switch the mode from keyboard?

Thanks for testing. This does indeed sound as if the game is just not aware that you are wearing the headset because there is no sensor for it. Even though we do not officially support this (yet) we can try to add an overwrite to enforce 3D mode... Will look into it.

i seem to be getting something similar with the most recent HTC Vive. To game loads on my monitor to the main menu but i get the XRebirth unresponsive same as itaros screenshot. and in the headset it just has the steam game art and endless progress spinner. any ideas?

How long can you play? Do you even get into the game or just the start menu scene?

Please send a DXDiag file for your system to info@egosoft.com

I have sent that through now.
I can load the game and play successfully using the monitor display and mouse and keyboard. although i only tested for a few mins.
Its just that the game refuses to load on the headset display.

hi. so im using the osvr HDK2. it doesnt have a sensor in it either. im just wondering if we will get support soon as well , a bypass or somthing, or do i need to request a refund? dont want to but its pointless to have a game you can't play. that sensor requierment realy should be mentioned in the description so people know. i understand why it was used but you realy cut down on your audience base when only two mainstream headsets use it. just a thought.

The upcoming update will have an option to bypass the sensor. But please do not take this as a guarantee that it will work, because we have not tested it ourselves. Awaiting feedback from external testers for that.

@Joules: Just a guess... do you have two graphics-cards in your computer?
If so, can you either disable the slower one (device manager) or unplug it and see if that works?
Joules Aug 1, 2017 @ 5:42pm
That was it. game is working perfectly for me now with the second card disabled. Thankyou Sir!

Concerning overriding the Proximity-sensor, this feature can be enabled in the latest version.

Option 1:
Start the game with commandline parameter "-openvr_force_proximity" (without the "")

Option 2:
Add the following line to the config.xml in the game-directory (somewhere inside the <root> block) :
<openvr_force_proximity>true</openvr_force_proximity>

Feedback if this works with TrinusVR is welcome.

It works perfectly, but one need to fiddle with supersampling for it to work, otherwise game stucks in UI reload loop as I described(with debug.log and screenshots) in OSVR thread at egoforums. Thanks.

Would you be so kind to post what exactly you changed there for it to work?
