ThimbleWeed Park Review
After all the initial Hype, is the Game Worth it ? ABSOLUTELY!!

lets just go down the bullet points here:

HUMOR - The game is Genuinely funny. Nothing worse than a game that promises to be funny, and just is not funny, and every joke feels forced. With Thimbleweed This is not the case, the humor comes from the characters and their quirks, and interactions with each other.

GAMEPLAY -the gameplay is SOLID, This is a TRUE Resurrection of the point-and-click genre, lots of items to clog the inventory, lots of elements in the environment to interact with (each of the 5 characters having unique dialogue with most items). the puzzles are mostly logical, unfortunately there is no gentle hint system, so there may be some parts where you are stuck and have no idea how to proceed, you know what the next objective is, just don't know how to get it done. this makes a walk through necesary for at least 4 major parts where you will get stuck, unless you happen to complete the steps (almost coincidentally) to proceed. - the length of the game is great, as well as replayablity you get different random things that happen when you play the game multiple times.

GRAPHICS - the graphics are pixel-based Retro-style - but they are not "8-bit"(it irritates me when people call any pixel based artwork "8-bit") - this game could not pass for a 'game in the 90's ' like some other few point-and-click games that are a tribute to our childhood ( thinking of mainly Game Royale ) - THAT being said the artwork is AMAZING and the graphics are supremely colorful, i was impressed by the level of detail in the animations, layers in the backgrounds, and subtle details like lighting and use of transparencies (alpha) that are a delight to look at.

SOUND - the music and sounds are great. there is nothing that is offensive, annoying or repetative, however they would have been better off to have 2 more ambient tracks as the main ambient track gets a lil tired, especially when you're stuck.

OVERALL - i reccomend this from the basis that of the 'NEW' ( post 2014 ) point-and-click adventure games this is the BEST ONE, its incredibly well polished / solid, its very Lengthy (a lot of the tribute games seem to have one edgy gimmick or another, and tend to have 12 puzzles and be really short, embarrasingly short on the 2nd/3rd play through) - i'd say it feels like a spiritual successor to maniac mansion - much more than Day of the tenticle ever did (which i loved) - i know blasphemey... GET THIS GAME! <3
