Missing specks of dust?
I finished the game in hard but the notebook still read "Collect 2 more specks of dust."
I know you can "cheat" to get the achievement by reloading and re-collecting specks. Done.
Does anyone know of 2 hard to find specks? I did find these:

In the "dungeon" part of the sewers where you cannot go back after getting out.
In the "sekrit room" under the van, where you cannot go back.
The one in the laser room at the factory was hidden behind a column.

Thanks!

If you found them in the missable locations I think you did everything right. I also was like 5 pieces short for the achievement for the first playthough but I really looked everywere it is possible and I think I read that somewhere, that a single game does not have the full number required for the achievement. If you reach Zero in the notebook nothing special happens.

Thanks... I just want to reach zero in the notebook! Ahh!

That should happen a lot sooner than what is required for the achievement, when I reached zero on the notebook I was still 10 or so short of the achievement.

There should be more specks of dust in the game than what you'll need. The achievement can be achieved across multiple games. In Hard mode, if you know there's a room where you didn't collect dust, you can try returning there later (did you fully explore the sewer, for example?). In Casual mode, though, there's currently no way to get the notebook number down to zero. We'll fix that in a future revision.

I actually got the all of the specks of dust in my playthrough the first time around, so it is incorrect that you can't get all the dust in a single game.

Yes, it should be possible. There are more specks of dust in the game than you need to get 0 on your notebook.

Well due to the randomized nature it seems to be different everytime. I got zero and was missing 10 for the achievement but the game was over and I was still missing 5, I´m pretty sure I got every single one, but could never be too sure.

Speaking of the sewers, I haven´t replayed it on hard yet, but I´m pretty sure I´m gonna pick up the specks of dust there to keep track of where I already have been. Kinda like...you know(sounding like Franklin there for a bit) lighting the torches in the mayan pyramid in Zak.

i got all on hard on my first play playthrough
I've just finished Thimbleweed Park in casual mode, and I have collected no specks of dust this time. Problem solved :-)

That´s what I did for the no dust achievement. I speedrun the casual mode in a bit under 90 minutes. Haven´t done that for hard and not sure I wanna do that. I want to forget the puzzles and keep hard mode more fun in the future.

Is one playthrough needed for each achivement? I have the 75 dust achievement, but neither the 25 nor the 50 dust achievement.

That's very strange, you should have all three dust achievements. It seems a technical issue, to me. Try contacting the support, sending an email to the address cited at the bottom of this official page:

I must say this is one of the few aspects of the game that let me down slightly. I thought collecting lots of them would lead to something cute happening. Nothing though!

On this subject, I had a technical issue with getting the Specks of Dust achievements, something to do with having played the game before offline which messes up the count in the save.dat. Support said there's going to be a fix for this in July that might solve my problem, so I'll wait till then to try again.

It seems like it was the save.dat. I deleted it and started from scratch. Now the 25+50 dust-challenges start to count as expected
