Should I play this on hard or casual mode?
Title.. I'm not too experienced in playing these sorts of games but have always been intruiged. TP looks like it has a pretty cool story so I'm in. My limited experience with other p&c adventures is that I very rarely seem to be patient enough to work out the puzzles myself and usually have to check out a guide or something. Is casual for me, or will I miss out on story/gameplay stuff? Thanks!

I'd recommend trying on hard, if you can commit to being very diligent while exploring and you have a good memory for detail; if you don't miss (or forget) anything, the puzzles are eminently solvable -- no moon logic or gotchas. You can always come here for hints if you need to. If you prefer a casual experience, tho, there's nothing wrong with that. GL HF :-)

Hard definitely. Because it's not really hard. I've only been stuck once so far, and by 'hard' thinking was back in the game soon. Nothing more satisfying! DONT read walkthroughs.

Never ever do easy mode, you´ll be missing out so much.

Easy cuts lots of puzzles, items, characters, dialogue, cut-scenes, locations, story elements even creating plot holes and making some puzzles make less sense.

For instance I believe the tinfoil hat should somehow remained a tinfoil hat rather than a regular old pirate hat that with no explaination deflects lasers in easy mode, I know the hard mode version doesn´t make much real life sense but at least in-universe it does.

If you play casual, you will miss a lot of the story details, because in this kind of games puzzles contribute to define the story. Personally, I always start in "full" mode to enjoy the full story and sometimes I play a second time in the "simplified" mode.

Said that, in my opinion you always need a bit of patience to carefully (and that means "slowly", sometimes) explore the environment and interact with all the objects. If you think you can manage to play this game in a relaxed way, I think your experience will be a great one, even in "hard" mode.

I've observed some players on Twitch playing on "casual" and they struggle even to find giant objects in the room, simply because they move their mouse pointer too fast. So, yeah, patience can definitely help. :)

Well back in the day I used to play Maniac Mansion and Zak with this thing:

And everytime something would load the cursor would temporarily turn into a little snail symbol. No way to rush things back then, maybe now you´ve got come up with the patience yourself, back then the technic forced you to be patient.
