Report a translation problem
(That reminds me that I think the trench which description reads "Able to slow down Ogres" also seems to not affect them pretty much. I once tried with 2 blocks wide trench but the Ogres were moving thro it like it's normal terrain?)
I myself handle it with towers through the town with at least 3 blocks for putting a ballista,an archer tower and a bunch of archers on top...so with the archers and archer towers you do the fire rate and the ballista does the damage...but overall...they do something
Then, as I progress more into the late game as I view it. I have 3 of them side by side. 2 archer, and 1 ballista.
I also start to nest my defenses. I have the main keep area with walls and moat, inside another wall, with things like food and forestry, with a moat and more triple towers.
Then I start building the far out defenses. Just a block of 3 towers at the far edges of the island to take the enemy under fire as soon as possible. Plus I throw in random walls and moats to slow them down while the towers shoot at them.
I also have everything connected so my archer companies, as well as the swordsmen, can rapidly get anywhere, but the enemy can not get up on the walls.
By the time I get tired of a game, there's no place on the walls that aren't covered by multiple archer towers, and several ballista. Most dragons and vikings die long before they get to even my 2nd level defenses.
This game is surprisingly addictive. The only problem I have with it is why can't we kill viking ships before they land the troops any longer??
I haven't tested it, but there is a mod that makes your archers able to fire while they are on a transport boat, so you can use them to attack Vikings while they are on the sea.
