Transport Cart specifics

I've just gotten into setting some solid logistics routes for my transport carts so I can centralize certain kinds of production and then distribute the produced goods to convenient locations. But I have some questions about the Transport Carts parameters:

1. What is the maximum load they can pickup? There is no feedback or info in the route UI the way there is for stockpiles so I've been left trying to see how much is removed and added to different stockpiles, but it's imperfect at best.
   
2. Do the transport carts only drop off supplies if the location they're delivering to has available space? I treat the amount set for delivery as "drop off this many, assuming there's room" but I'm not sure exactly what behavior I should expect.

Anyway, any info would be appreciated, especially the maximum load they can carry.

as far as I know a transport cart does have a load limit and it is at 70 - so you can only transport 70 items with one cart - for your 2nd problem: yes they only are able to drop off when there is space available at your destination so otherwise they will go and drive in circles still fully loaded with the previous load until you either make space in your destination or you set them to another destination...

so I myself haven´used them as intense as you seemed to have yet, but for those things I use them I definitly know my stuff! - btw you can also look for the capacity of a transport cart,when you click on it: there´s a button saying "view hold"
