Long term trauma?

Due to me conquering an enemy land...

When does it go away? Does it go away at all? It has been at least 30 years by now...

This is really strange. This is a nice game, it work great and it just got a recent free update... And the forums are like this game is dead with no activity whatsoever... In any other Steam forum there would be people around simply answering back they don't know about the matter being in question...

I think I've had mine for 50 years. So if it does go away, it'll probably be at like 75 or 100.

If it doesn't go away, then invading people is pointless since allies apparently will just give you their entire kingdom sometimes.

I've had it for 100+, idk if it ever goes away. Maybe its proportional to the buildings you destroyed?

Currently it seems it's a static "feature" of conquering. I've had mine so long I don't remember. But I slogged through it to now have a colony that stays at 70 or above on happiness. Took about 10-15 years to get it on the up and up throwing festivals almost constantly to fight population loss.

Picking the game up again after a while,I have realized that if you force an enemy to unconditionally surrender, (through diplomacy after destroying enough of their kingdom), then you dont get the debuff

It take 100 years for it to go away (I tested this in Survival mode) for anyone in the future who would like an answer to this question.

For the record I did have mine wane away after what I consider to be an insane amount of time. Definitely higher than a hundred years. But I had read somewhere else that it might be increased by the amount of damage you do to an enemy empire and since this was my very first war and I was testing things out then I certainly did a number on the whole island. Several times in fact.
